There are so many posts about hurricane Charley after doing my search that I got frustrated trying to find what I was looking for. I remember someone either talking about or gave a link from a local newspaper that talked about the damage that was done to MCO (Orlando's Int'l Airport). Can anyone direct me to where to find that information.

My parents were in MCO a couple days after Charley and a bunch of ceiling tiles had gotten wet and were falling down... they had to hold people outside the damaged area and herd them in as each plane got ready to board. That's all I really know though...

I would like to see that article as well. The eye of the hurricane went directly over the airport. I do know that there was more damage than just ceiling tiles falling down.

A section of the roof collapsed, it wasn't that noticeable because the ceiling was basically intact.

A lot the jetways got destroyed. Some with water damage and some snapped in the wind.

A lot of trees were destroyed.

From Google news:
When Charley struck the world's 22nd-busiest airport around 9 p.m. Friday, the control tower recorded steady winds of 80 mph with gusts of 108 mph.
The lashing tore the roofs off three airside terminals and blew in two giant glass panels in the main terminal, drenching a security checkpoint with driving rain. When the winds finally calmed down debris littered OIA's two main runways and numerous taxiways.
More than 1,000 people spent the night at the airport, Bill Jennings, OIA's executive director said.
By Saturday midday, more than 5,000 people were queued up inside the airport grounds ready to fly.
Airport operations commenced at 1500 hours Saturday.

What exactly is a jetway? Is it the ramp thing that you walk on to get to the airplane?

YES, I flew out the Monday after the hurricane. SW was constantly changing the gate assignments. Basically as soon as a plane was coming in they would decide what outgoing flight they wanted to use that equipment for and would move the flight to that gate.
