Does anyone know what some of the better air fares from Dallas to Orlando are? I'd prefer going out of Love, but DFW is OK, if the price is right.

I hope this post get answered. I've been watching fares from DFW to MCO for a few weeks now. Nothing lower than $235 so far. I've promised myself I will hold out till it goes under $200, but I still think that is pretty high.

I have a feeling that your flight may be a whole lot more since you want to fly out of Love Field. Being that Southwest and Continental are the only two airlines that fly out from there, and if you were to book either, you'd most likely have to have connections. I really *HATE* that Southwest can't fly out of the bordering states! They have such great sales pretty much every week! But I'm sure you want to do that since you're most likely coming in from Love being that you're from South Texas.

Good Luck and post when you buy your tickets!

I am looking for Dallas to Orlando for mid September, and just came across $ 241 including taxes for non-stop each way on Boeing 757's. Previously both Delta and AMerican had the same fare of $ 253.50 including taxes. I am tempted to grab this offer for $ 241, BUT I keep checking Hotwire and right now I can get it for $ 207.... Decisions ! Decisions ! It makes me sick that my other family members are getting rroundtrip non-stop $118 rates from upstate NY to Orlando and I'm staring at rates double theirs, yet the distance traveled is pretty much the same. Makes you want to scratch your head.... I will keep you posted if I find any better rates, and GOOD LUCK !!

I'm in the same boat. Don't you wish they would get rid of the Wright Amendment so Southwest can fly direct from DFW to Orlando?? I too am looking for airfare for the end of September - looked at the Delta flights, lots of seats left so I'm just going to be patient and see what happens in the next couple of weeks - last year I got rountrip on Delta for $139.00 at the end of July so maybe there is some hope.

Checked rates AGAIN July 25, AA for non-stops in mid Sept down to $ 221 including tax, Delta has matched it. AirTran was still at $ 226 for connections in Atlanta. Expedia was running $ 182 but connections in Charlotte. Meanwhile, Hotwire was $ 178 with up to one connection... Hope this info helps !!

Found rate of $ 157 at cheaptickets.com for mid September with one connection. I was going to pounce on it but my traveling partner didn't like the amount of time it would take to get to Orlando ( PICKY PICKY ). Hope this helps !! Meanwhile, it appears my quest continues...

I bought tickets for our December trip yesterday for $155/each round trip on US Air. We have a connection in Charlotte (which we generally refuse with kids) but December can be a difficult time to get good airfares. American and Delta were offering $211 direct yesterday but the difference was still around $200 for our family so we decided to go with US Air. Hopefully it won't be a decision we regret.

Our January 03 trip was on Delta for $161/person on a direct flight. Our March 02 trip was on Delta for $101/person on a direct flight. So, I know the airfares do sometimes come available but with the cutbacks on flights etc. it seems that great rates are harder to find.

I sure do wish the Wright Amendment would be repealed. Although Southwest is not my first choice due to lack of seating assignments, I do think that having some better competition provided by Southwest's ability to fly direct would be sure to improve flight prices.

Just checked rates AGAIN, United Airlines for mid September is $157.50 with connection in Charlotte, Hotwire is now $ 157. The non-stop Delta and American flights are still at $ 221.50
Concerning the amendment, I think they should dump it too !! That amendment was designed to hinder Southwest Airlines. I think we Texans shouldn't be penalized just because Southwest has become more efficient and productive than the other airlines, whatever happened to open competition ??

Okay. I'll admit it, I'm an idiot when it comes to airfare.

Delta/AA are at $203/roundtrip direct flights right now for december.

Do you guys honestly think that the price will go up? Or do you think the price will keep on falling?

I just can't imagine booking for over $200. And yes it's only $203, but I've seen roundtrip to MCO as low as $130!

Am I just dreaming?

Tried to call United at 1-800-864-8331, no one available, so was given this site. You get a 5 % discount AND it appears 1000 bonus miles if you book online. With this discount in addition to the $ 157.50 fare I found on their site for mid September, suddenly the airfare to Orlando is looking MUCH better.

Hope this helps !!
