I just saw a clip of what happened and it looked nasty. You could see he was a little dazed after the hit and then the car just blew up. Praying that he'll be ok. Very, very scary.

He's supposed to be released from the hospital today. He was very upset that he was not able to run the actual race. The reports say burns to his inner legs and his chin. He says everything is OK and that he is looking forward to this weeks race.

If I know one thing about Earnhardts is that they play hard after an injury. Just look at what Dale Sr. 2 weeks after he broke his clavicle and cracked his sternum in a Talladega crash.....he set the track qualifying record at Watkins Glen (Road course). I think Jr. will be just fine.

Watching the tape of the incident on the incar camera, it appeared to me that he was briefly unconscious. He didn't even move when the flames shot out at him. Thank goodness for fireretardant suits.
