We were at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds for a week (March 6-13), our first visit there. Upon arriving to check in, there was a little bit of a line. Immediately, a cast member named Dakota whom we later found out was a management intern -- came over to chat with us while we were waiting. Very nice guy from Portland, Oregon. A few days later, my travelmates and I were walking from The Meadow back to our cabin and Dakota happened to be driving past. Pulled over and offered us a ride, which we were extremely grateful for as we were pretty bushed. Dakota was the kind of guy Disney needs many more of... friendly, quick with a smile, helpful. Over the course of the week, we noticed a lot fewer cast members with that kind of upbeat personality. Many seemed annoyed to be there.
Later, we headed over to our favorite spot to hang out, the Trout Pass bar over at the Wilderness Lodge. On our way over, we really really hoping Carrie, whom we'd had the pleasure of spending many an afternoon with during past visits, would be there. Sure enough, she was there, perky as ever... and even remembered us! (Or at least did a dang good job of convincing us she did!) Her fellow bartender I want to say Sebastian, but I just know that's not right! *was just as friendly and fun. Needless to say, we made several stops at the Wilderness Lodge pool bar during the course of our visit...
