DAK tasting sampler value card

Just read about this yesterday in the news column and wondering if anyone has done this before. It looks like a good deal but I'm not sure if I totally understand it. So, I purchase it (solo trips), and can sample from several different restaurants til I use up the $50? It doesn't expire. The one downside is that I'm not going until the first week of May, so that bonus $10 card is of no use to me. I don't see the advantage, but then, could be I haven't had enough coffee this morning...
