Dairy Free Experiences at Epcot

I have colitis as well as beinf lactose intolerant. While lactose always needs to be avoided I sometimes have difiiculty with milk by-products as well. I have it noted on all our ADRs for table service meals and have the list of snacks from Brenda but had some binder and personal experience questions...
Do all the world showcase CS have an allergy binder? What about the Sunshine Seasons in Future world? Have you found it easy/easier at any one CS place in particular in Epcot?
What about Flame tree Barbecue in animal kingdom?

All the CS should have the binder (check the dates, they just changed some foods). For example the chicken strips are no longer dairy free. We have found the service in the American pavillion is be wonderful. They even have dairy free ice cream!

At Epcot there's also the Kaki Gori stand that is basically fruit flavored ices. If you venture over to Beach Club in their gift shop ( which has a small attached quick service sandwich/snack area) they serve gelato. I've heard nothing but rave reviews for the gelato. One friend whose child could not have milk products went there EVERY day during their trip as it was such a wonderful treat for her daughter. Instead of her "best" memory about her WDW trip being the characters, parks, or attractions, it was "chocolate gelato", lol.--Kathy

Gelatto can be dairy, soy or water based so you have to be careful what you ask for and there are some brands out there in markets.

I know if you go to "Beaches and Cream" (I think that is the same place dclfun is talking about) they also have Rice dream/tofutti. And I have been told Tonys' at MK can make a soyshake.

The last time my son had gelato he was told it was no dairy or soy. He can have neither so he really enjoyed this treat. It's always a good idea to check an ingredient list EACH time. One young woman I met had been sick for a week on her trip because they changed the type of oil used to make french fries in the food court and she was allergic to the new ingredient. I'm not sure about gelato in Beaches and Cream as we didn't stop there, but we did find it in the gift shop where the "sandwich stand" is located. They had several flavors...yum! ---Kathy

We at at Sunshine with allergies and were fine, although I don't remember what we got there. The good thing about Sunshine is that they have lots of food stations and also prepacked sandwiches so there are many options. If you can, I'd stop by during an "off time" for meals and speak to a manager. Flame Tree is PACKED (even more so than other CS places, in my opinion) during the lunch rush, and I wouldn't want to be trying to thumb through the binder then.

The gelato at Beach Club is in the store not Beaches and Cream. I never thought to ask for Rice Dream at Beaches and Cream. That is great to know!

My dd can't tolerate gluten or casein (milk protein). I thought she could have most of the gelatos but I thought there were 1 or 2 that the Beach Club cast member steered us away from-sighting that those contained dairy. It's always good to ask.
