Daimond Lane Reservations

We are going to Sheraton Vistant Resort on 7/17/04, how soon should I send my request to the Daimond Lane Web Site? Any trick to getting the unit you want? I hesitate to request the Cascade section, since it is probably the most requested. Thinking of requesting the Lakes, please send feed back, never have seen this resort. Thanks

Sorry I can't help you more - all I know is that it says to do the Diamond Lane registration "at least 72 hours in advance". It doesn't say what the earliest you can do it is. Are you trading in through a timeshare? I know if you're doing that they might not even get your information until a week before, so it might not do any good to do it too early.We are going the week after you and I've been wondering if I should go ahead and do the Diamond Lane thing or wait a while.

As for requests, I was sort of thinking the same as you about not requesting Cascades since it seems like everyone does. From what I've heard the Lakes is supposed to be nice, too, but then I've also heard good reviews of other areas (Fountains, Spas).

I'll be there the following week. I was under the impression from reading other posts that you should make your requests no more than 72 hr in advance because they probably won't have your ressie before then.

I just checked the form on the website and it says "at least 72 hours in advance of your check in date". I guess we can go ahead and fill it out then!

I've traded into Vistana 2 times. Each time, I use the Diamond lane and request top floor in a bldg w/ elevators. If you have a ressie for a 2 bdrm slps 8, you have a great chance of getting Cascades, unless they've changed their policy since Feb 03.

Also, after emailing my request, I have called both times. I get the same person (a nice lady who's name escapes me). I think she's the only phone support for Diamond lane. I found that she responded quite well to me. I made sure to be a happy, non-pushy customer. Not only did I get to confirm that they had received my request, it worked! Last time I had 4 units reserved and we all got Cascades (diff bldgs) for Presidents week, no less!
