Just curious to know what the normal sodium intake per day should be. Last week I dieted well, I was eating a WW TV dinner for lunch every day and having a Slim Fast shake in the AM and I was exercising well too. So imagine my surprise when the scale didn't budge. Someone at work said that I was probably taking in too much sodium and retaining water, so that got me to wondering how much sodium was too much for a day. Any ideas?

Since heart disease runs in my family I try to keep down both my fat and sodium %
I use fitday to help me monitor this - just checked and the max I allow is 2500mg

I think I just read that the goal is to keep your sodium at 2300 mg per day. It's hard to do that when you're eating a lot of frozen meals and/or convenience type foods. They are just loaded with sodium.
