We would normally do lunch anyway, the kids don't behave as well in the evening.

Not sure how they'll cope on the cruise as it's an 8pm sitting! Maybe they'll get second wind.

Is it the DCL? Is it your first cruise? We are doing our first cruise this year I plumped for first seating but iv heard second seating works quite well. Apparently people do swap about so if you decide its not working Im sure they will switch you but would prob be best to change when you get onboard. Good luck.
