Daily Maid Service

I have a question. We are not DVC members. However, we are renting a members points in June. We are staying at the BWV. Anyway, I understand you only get maid service every third day. When we agreed to rent the points, I thought this was no problem at all as we usually make our own beds and tidy up before we leave in the morning anyway. My wife, however, asked if we would get fresh towels everyday. She didn't mind about cleaning the room, however, she doesn't want to use the same towel three days in a row. I have to admit I didn't think about that. So what gives? Can you get fresh towels delivered everyday, or can I go somewhere and pick them up, or am I stuck paying the maid service charge daily? And by the way, how much is daily maid service?

Please post a few more specifics, so you can get an accurate response. The charge for mousekeeping varies according to the size unit you have -- studio, 1 or 2 BR or Grand Villa. Also need to know how many nights you're staying.

A full cleaning, with fresh sheets and towels, vacuum and dust, is after the 8th night, with trash and towel change once in between --- so it's not every 3 days. If you're staying less than that, there will be a trash and towel somewhere in the middle -- it can be negotiated which day. Supplies are also replenished on trash and towel day, but you can always call for extra kleenex, toilet paper, etc.

There is also the option of just trash and towel, where you get fresh towels and the trash emptied and supplies replenished --- it's $10/day. You can also purchase packs of extra towels to use and these will be delivered to your room --- that cost is $6 for 4 sets of towels and bath mat.

If you're in a 1 BR or larger, you can wash towels in the washer/dryer. Or you might just want to get the $6 set of towels or extra trash and towel service.

Actually, you get a full cleaning on day 4 and towel and trash on day 8 if you stay at least 8 nights; then it repeats the cycle.

If you stay less than 8 days, you only get Trash and Towels on day 4.

If you're in a 1 or 2BR you can wash the towels yourself.

If you stay 8 nights they schedule the FULL cleaning on the FOURTH day, not the eighth. (At least that's what it says on our reservation for May. This will be our first 8-night stay.)

We are staying in a studio so no washer/dryer available. We are there for five nights and we have the trash/towels listed on our confirmation letter on the fourth night. Wow, I was under the assumption that mid week visit would be a complete cleaning. We may actually pay for that if that's the case.

You have free access to washers and dryers on the first floor near the elevators. You just have to share them with the other studio guests.

Do what DVC members do. Go with the T&T on day 4 and forget about the full cleaning. It's so easy to take care of your own villa- make the bed up in the AM, fold up the sleeper sofa. Take your trash across the hall to the trash room. Really very simple. Then you don't have to worry about the housekeepers coming in when you really don't want them to.
