Daily Grind 8/27/2012

Good Morning!

Well- I woke up to the winds dieing down so took the opportunity between lines of storms to take the dogs out. Things here are not too bad but the river could reach flood stage if we get too much rain today. It sounds like about 10,000 Floridians are without power so overall not too much impact- that is a very small amount considering the number of homes in the areas with the strongest bands of rain and storms so far. We are still under a tornado watch for a few hours and I fully expect it to be extended until late today. DH headed off to work as the stores are open while the schools and government are closed.

Good luck to anyone in the panhandle, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana who will be dealing with this in another day and at a higher impact.

Today:
put away the 5 loads of laundry I did yesterday- anything that could be washed was washed
keep taking the dogs out between bands
dinner- ham, potatoes, and green beans
get pot roast ready for tomorrow
get fruit tray and vegie tray ready for tomorrow
work on scrapping (since I am home and expected to be at work)

I'm not working today either. We've got a few things to do, need to get Morgan's backpack ready and go to the grocery store for makings for lunches.

Good Morning!

Rebecca, I am right with you! The wind sure did pick up in the evening and howled through the night with alot more rain. Things have quieted down quite a bit, thankfully! Right now the sun is shining, it's raining (go figure!) with a mild wind - the weather is confused! Suppose to have rain on and off for most of the day as these outer bands of Isaac push through. We were lucky, we did not lose our power at all yesterday.

Today:
a couple loads of laundry
once over the house
vacuum
put away hurricane flashlights, lanterns, etc.
meal planning
Publix run

Today is the first day of freedom!!!!

DS16 spent the night at a friends house and I took the little kids off to school.
YAY!!!
Now I am sitting here, enjoying the quiet of no AC units (It was a balmy 58 this morning) and no TVs!!

My to do's:

DIS - I'm giving myself 8 more minutes
Fold and put away laundry
start laundry for today

take him to the bank

dinner - not sure what yet

Morning.. It's a rainy day here... it's actually really nice and peaceful...

Rebecca and Becky hope everything continues to remain just rain with little flooding and no power outages... We haven't heard from Gram yet but she won't answer the phones if the winds are howling or there is a thunderstorm near.

We haven't gotten any of Isaac yet, but the wind has picked up and we should be getting some rain/storms this afternoon. It shouldn't be bad here if it stays on it's present course.

I'm off work this week. I needed to go grocery shopping today so I went bright and early this morning so that I was sure to be back and the car unloaded before the rain. My plan for this week is to clean and organize this house. Yesterday I worked on the kitchen. Today, I'll work on the kitchen nook and the dining room. We have way too much stuff, it'll be great to clean it out and get more organized. My crafting room needs it the worst, but I'm leaving that room until last and I probably won't get it done before I go back to work on Saturday, but I can then work on it a bit here and there later.

good morning ladies!

good news about the storms- need to check in with those in its new path today.

Today is a must do over type of day, hasn't started out great and it wont end great either I am sure.
DS was up too early- I needed some extra time this morning, then he was clingy. Then I left him on my bed so I could shower. He made a mess! Looked like the poor baby exploded! he was sitting on my night stand not wearing his diaper and there was POOP everywhere, bed, nightstand, floor.
got him hosed off
room cleaned up
got a call that DD cant switch elem schools because the one I want her to go to is crowded.
need to go by the one here and see if I can make sure she gets a decent teacher. poor kid.
was going to try and finish up the dlr/dca swap but I am thinking I will just stay away till the bad day juju is over
dinner-not sure
DD#2 has cheer
DD#1 has play practice

last day of my kids freedom is abt over I so need a schedule in this house.

Thank you for the prayers for Jeff. I really don't know how much more this poor guy can take. Some of the church family found him late last night so we at lease know he's okay physically.

Prayers for him and eeryone else in need have been said so many times today. Tom has family in New Orleans and south central MS so hope they are hanging on or gotten out!!!!

today was work
picked up a book for mom and forgot to stop at the veggie store for fruit. I'm not going back down!!!
need to run Levi to the ortho in a few mins
home for a once over cleaning (mainly vaccing)
dinner??????
send everyone through the shower and to bed by 9. bus arrives @ 7:18 yay me!!!!

today was first day back to school for boys & back to work for me - I think I'm sore from work - using muscles I haven't all summer so shoulders & feet hurt

DH is cooking supper so I'm going to be a bum tonight
