Hello all !! Getting excited about our trip, we are leaving November 26th and will be in the world until Dec. 1. The trip will be hubby and myself, our 8 year old and my parents. I am thinking about doing a daily surprise for everyone, just something little. I had thought about doing pillow cases for the arrival day with mickey transfers and maybe some custom t shirts that all match for our magic kingdom day. Has anyone done this and does anyone have any ideas to do these on a small budget. This should be fun!!

I am trying to think of ideas as well since we will be going for Xmas this year...

Thinking budget minded, of course, here are some ideas:

For the 8 year old, what about Mickey Lolipops, disney beanie of her favorite character, disney charm bracelet, mickey mouse ears with her name on it, disney stickers, disney pins

For the adults, Disney photo album or picture frame, disney pens, disney keychain, mickey antenea top for the car, disney pins.

Both Walmart and Target carry a lot of Disney stuff now so you can find some of it before you ever hit the parks :)

we did surprises for every day of our trip w/tee shirts the first day and cd/gameboy game the last (to make the trip home more "fun")... in between we did a bunch of different things... here are a few:

glow bracelets/necklaces for the day we were going to see fantasmic

mickey/minnie beanie key chain (bought pre-trip at the disney store on major sale!)

princess disposable camera for dd/pooh camera for ds purchased at target (pre-trip)

water yo-yo balls that they sell in the parks (purchased at kay-b toys for $.99)

autograph album and pen (purchased at resort gift shop... can be made in advance)

mickey rice krispie treat (bought at resort gift shop) to eat for pre-breakfast the day we had a 10:20 ps for CRT (my kids were up at 7/7:30 and would not have been pleasant if they did not have a snack before being fed at 10:30!)

small tin w/character on it w/disney candy inside (purchased at disney store pre-trip)

disney themed socks (purchased at wal or k-mart pre-trip)

most days everyone got something, but not always, a few days just the kids got gifts... i bought colored lunch bags, made labels (using disney print of course!) on my computer and had each gift "wrapped" and stowed in my suitcase before we went... the kids thought whoever signed the label delivered the gifts (i.e. mickey/minnie, princesses, tigger/pooh&gang, etc as each day's gift was from someone different) which led to the kids thanking that character at the park or meal, which was fun... esp when ds would beg to know how they got in our locked room! all the chars went along w/our ploy!

also, getting a little giftie every morning reallllly cut down on the "i wants" or "can we buys" at every gift shop 'cause i would gently remind them, "but what if that's what mickey/minnie are bringing you tomorrow?"

i use that on my son at stores when he wants toys I say "if we get that now santa will have nothing to bring you for Christmas"

Works well.

as for ideas....

Maybe some quarters for pressed pennies.
Some of those small hersey bars, you can put a strip of paper with a disney pic on each one. (I did this for my son's bday favors it was cute)
Or disney pez
Small container of bubbles for the lines (don't know if that would bug other people in line or not.)
A small flashlight to mess around with on the way back from the parks or in the hotel room.
Pair of sunglasses
Disney fruit snacks
Light chaser from the disney store
or those small wash clothes that are wrapped up in plastic when you wet them and they get bigger.
A kids size fanny pack
Those little trinkets you see near the register at the disney store, candy filled items, etc.

That's all I can think of.

Do you have Big Lots near you? Many of them have recently had packs of iron-on paper with a cd of disney artwork for $3.99. Look in the aisle with office supplies/computer stuff. You get enough Iron-on paper to do 6 big things or bunches of smaller stuff I think it's 6 sheets in a pack and that stuff is usually very expensive.

Do you have a Dollar Tree or Deals store? They both often have little disney stuff, here is a list of what I have gotten:

Dollar Tree:
Disney Hair ties
Coloring books
PVC figurines
purses

Deals:
Disney Wallets
Disney chapstick
Princess tattoos

They also have disney chapstick (princesses, pooh, mickey and the incredibles) at kmart right now. look on end caps in the health and beauty section.

I bought everyone silly Disney character toothbrushes and took some nice lotion in travel size and spiked them with peppermint oil and made lables for them that say "Pluto's Dog-Tired Foot Lotion" with a picture of Pluto. Everyone LOVES that one, peppermint foot lotion feels so good on sore, tired feet. We also bought character toothpaste for the kids.

This thread was a great idea! We are planning our first trip and I have been trying to plan a FUN INEXPENSIVE gift for each member of our 8 adult, 2 kid party

What I have decided to do is put together special photo albums. I've purchased a Disney photo album for each adult (power shopped and found some reallly cute ones, all for $7 and under), with a character reflecting that adults favorite character or personality (i.e. Grandpa is Grumpy, and Auntie Diane is Eeyore etc..). I will take photos all week of the gang, and then the night before the last day I am going to develop the pics (double copies of course) and put photos of that person during a memorable moment of our trip in their personal album. That way on the last day every one already has an album together and memories ready to share as soon as they get home.

Looking forward to reading some more great ideas!

Someone has mentioned going to Dollar Tree and Big lots for Disney stuff.. If you have any type of dollar store in your area you should check it out.. My local Dollar Tree always has Disney merchandise.. but also a local no name dollar store always has bunches of disney related merchandise too..

Just the other day at the no name one I saw disney lolly pops, socks, coloring books, books, hair things, pencils/pens.. If you look you will find alot of stuff..

Target has 2 sheet packs of Disney stickers on clearance for $.25!!!!!!!!! They're in the 'dollar section' (right as you walk in the door at most Targets). They aren't marked as on sale/clearance, but scan $.25 (instead of $1). They had maybe 6 different princess variety, 1 Mickey set, and 2 winnie the pooh. They also had tons of other non-Disney designs (Scooby, Hulk, Sponge Bob, Spiderman, Dora, Barbie, ect).

One other thing that I didn't see listed that I've stocked up on as a 'suprise', those hand towels that expand.
