DAH or EMM-FL, Which would you do?

I'm waffling between doing EMM-FL or DAH for our Late January Trip. Advise please!

DH & I did EMM in May and thought it was well worth the cost. For DD & I trip in Jan we are doing EMM-TSL, & initially we were going to do EMM-FL as well, but DAH is tempting. DAH would cost $100 more for both of us, but is a longer event. We would be going to the parks the day of DAH, so there is no value added there. DAH has more rides available and has limited capacity. But.. EMM-FL will be the expanded format in January, also has limited capacity, and has full breakfast. It's cheaper, but a shorter event.

Help please. Which would you do & why? If you've done any of these events before which did you prefer.

I've done the EMM at FL, and liked it. I haven't done DAH. I would go with DAH, mostly because I haven't done it before. I also really used to like the old EMH at MK, when they were open until two or three AM. Also...more attractions are available at DAH than just the FL rides.

Hard to compare/contrast both in my opinion, as they as so different.

3 hours (plus 7pm park entry) vs 1 hour 15 minutes

Close to the entire park open vs just the select rides in Fantasyland

While I am intrigued by the new expanded Fantasyland format for EMM that will be in place for your Jan EMM, personally I think DAH would win out for me. MK is my true Disney love and DAH has to date been a "well worth it" event (most recent one I attended was 9/20) from our perspective. You can cover SO MUCH ground during DAH that it can really free up the rest of your trip and potentially replace a park ticket day for some touring styles.

The Jan DAH dates are 8pm-11pm, so not crazy late at night in case you're not a night owl.

All things considered, I think I'd vote DAH.

It's funny, I am in almost the exact same situation as you. We did EMM-FL last trip with our family and now I am going back with DD 13 in January. Have booked EMM-TSL since that's new and now I won't have to worry about getting SDD FP. We really enjoyed EMM-FL but my daughter wants to do DAH so we are going to try that. Part of it is her age, at 13 she prefers space mountain, splash and Big Thunder to 7DMT. While we enjoy the FL rides they aren't her favorites anymore at 13. It is definitely more expensive but is a longer event and since it's just the two us of it's much more reasonable to pay for the extra events. DAH wins out for us!

I am not sure how old your daughter is. If she is very young I would do EMH FL. Otherwise I would do DAH because there are more rides that my family is interested in like Splash, Space Mountain, BTMRR, etc.

I’ve done both, and I cannot recommend DAH enough.

I would not do EMM again. You have no guarantee all of the rides offered will be working. (Seven Dwarfs was done for most of our EMM.). DAH was amazing! It reminded me of how the parks were in the ‘80s with no crowds and all walk-ons. You get to experience an almost empty park where it is easy to see the special touches like the hidden details in the busts at he Haunted Mansion, the mice in the castle, the details in Liberty Square, etc. Every ride was a walk-in except for Seven Dwarfs, which was 15 min. This is the only add-on we’ve ever done that I felt was worth every cent and would happily do again.

I haven't yet done either but I would choose DAH.

We did both last trip, and while we enjoyed both, DAH was definitely our favorite. Longer and more to do. In January we will be doing DAH and EMM-TSL.

I haven't done EMM, but I would choose DAH. There is a lot more to do and you get a longer amount of time, plus unlimited snacks and drinks.

I think we'll do DAH. DD (22) is a night owl & I think she would enjoy DAH more. The trip is a Christmas present to her & she has NO idea. DAH is on our 1st park day. We'll hit the ground running at AK-EMH to RD FoP, then onto Afternoon Tea, riding the Monorail to MK for FoF parade, & enjoy the rest of our day at MK & DAH.

I don't think EMM is actually cheaper because you need a park ticket to use it. DAH is stand alone.

After doing both, I highly prefer DAH, even though EMM is great and the new stuff helps make it more encompassing.
