Dad's Trip

I just got word today from my dad that he might be able to get vacation time in January for a trip. I'm 28 years old, and I'm excited about this because we've never been on a vacation together (parents divorced when I was 5).
I'm trying to make this as much of a surpirse as possible, so I haven't told him yet where I plan to take him. I'm planning the trip to DW, and I'm going to see about keeping him blindfolded and ears plugged until we get to our hotel, or into the rental car.
I'm just excited that I might be able to return to Disney again! And I'm not positve, but I think this would be my Dad's first trip to Disney.

Thanks guys. I'm still looking for good prices everywhere. The best thing I've found so far though is through my Amex card, I can get a buy one get one free fare anytime I buy through them for 3 more times! So I can t get the airfare REALLY cheap. LOL.

Good luck with your surprise! I'm taking my Dad in December - my Mom died 12 years ago, and he's still alone. He just retired 8 months ago, and he won't go anywhere alone - went with us two years ago to OKW and loved it, so I suggested we get away together for his birthday - and he went for it! I'm late thirty-something , and a get-away without DH or the kids sounds great! Got a super rate at AKL, which he loved when we visited the lobby, so he's very excited. I have an AP and he likes to just relax and not do parks, so we'll eat and do pool time together, and then I can park hop solo and let him relax. He's actually very excited, and I'm just waiting to get a good Ding fare from Buffalo like I usually do. I don't know if I could have surprised him, especially since he's chipping in for the room!

My dad just dropped a bomb. He can't go on vacation because the company that he works for, a local beer brewery, was just sold and the new owners took half of the workers paid holidays, personal days and sick days away. They also cut his vacation weeks down from 6 weeks to 3 weeks. And he said he won't find out when he can take his vacations until after the first of the year. So that means NO DISNEY TRIP FOR ME!!!
