Hi Ladies,

What did your Dads all do on the morning of your big day?

I ask because of course I want him around, but him watching me, my Mum and my bridesmaids get our hair and make up done for hours probably won’t be the funnest thing for him, and I know he’ll be all nervous/excited and don’t want him to feel like he’s in the way, etc. etc. I’m tempted to see if my bridesmaids Mum and Dad (they are sisters) want to come over to the GF, and then their Mum can hang out with us, and their Dad and my Dad can go spend a couple of hours at a theme park etc.

It’s tough as I don’t want to make him feel like I’m saying “stay out of my way”, but I also don’t want him bored!

I'd just leave it up to him to sort himself out. He won't be bored i'm sure.

My Dad explored the resort for a bit while I was getting ready.

My Dad did the same thing, he also hung out with my BIL in my sister's room while us girls where in him and Mom's room.

Thanks girls, I guess I'm worried as he's the only guy on the morning, and the only one not needing hair/make up.

Can he not hang out with the groom and the groomsmen for a little while - might give them some male bonding time. Do you have a future Father-in-law? Maybe you could set them up for breakfast together, is you future Mother-in-law having hair and make-up done with you girls?

My father was so into being with me on my wedding that he even wanted to go to the bridal shower, which was a designated girls-only event. :rotfl: In the end, he wanted to go so bad that we let him, and a few of my male cousins who are amateur photographers.

I had a morning wedding so my father just slept in while me and my poor bridesmaids got hair and makeup done. :thumbsup2 Then he waited patiently while we got dressed, since everyone was in robes and half-naked! After that, though, he didn't seem bored at all and had a lot of fun watching the photographers and videographers, and insisting on pictures of his own. I think it helps that all the wedding prep tired him out, so he took the downtime to relax properly instead of feeling left out or bored.

We are planning for the men in our group to play a round of golf and get some food together whilst all the ladies get ready. Even if they don't end up doing that for whatever reason, my Dad will just spend the morning with my husband to be and my brother in law and meet me before the ceremony for a couple of photos etc.

My dad is also spending the day with DF and the groomsmen, they are playing golf (which my dad loves and I think is super excited for) and then going to Big River Grill and Brewery works for lunch before getting ready. If this is not an option for your dad, maybe you could arrange for something for him to do that he would really enjoy such as going on a fishing charter, golfing, etc?

I'm making my dad get us breakfast etc!:lmao::rotfl:
