I just had the funniest conversation with my 14 year old. My husband took him to see the Allman Brothers last night. So I ask him how he liked the show and he starts telling me about it. He tells me about some of the people he met etc... then says,

Son: "Dad was in his zone." .

Me: "In his zone? What the heck does that mean?".

Son: "You know, sort of like he was at a Grateful Dead show or something."

It dawned on me that what he meant. When my husband listens to music he enjoys he'll close his eyes and move his head and tap his toes. It tends drive me crazy if we are out in public, but now I'll just think of it as "his zone" :rotfl2: .

Reminds me of my daughter and her dad! My husband tends to absently whistle song tunes out in public. The conversation goes like this:

Daughter: "Dad."
Dad, absentmindedly: "What?"
Daughter: "You're doing it again."
Dad: "Doing what?"
Daughter: "Whistling."

She loves it when we're walking around NYC and he starts whistling "New York, New York".:rotfl:
