Dad called back for another scan...

Hi all,

Never posted on this board - never felt like I had too.

But, if it's okay with you all, I'd just like to take in a few prayers for my Dad. He's had it tough for the last year, diagnosed with diabeties (sp) and has struggled to maintain this at a reasonable level since then. And now, he's been called back for a 3rd CRT scan examination. They haven't told us what they're looking for (yet) and I'm just hoping that there's nothing too seriously wrong. I'm out of my mind at the moment, thinking all-kinds

I do understand that this does not seem as terrible as other things posted on here, just wanted to get this off my chest, as I'm struggling to cope with what the out-come of this scan maybe

Tinks.........do let us know how he is doing and how the scans turn out. This board is for all of us dealing with whatever in life is making us sad....right now you are worried about your Dad and we are glad that you felt comfortable enough to share it with us... I will keep him in my thoughts and prayers..

Hopefully, it will be nothing... that would be awesome, wouldn't it and he would just have to deal with controlling the diabetes...

My Dad has got his date through as the 11th February for his scan. He will then return on Feb 19th (my birthday of all days!) for his results from his doctor.

February 19 is one of my days too.. not a birthday.. just a date I remember, I will send up lots of prayers for good news on that day..

Well today is the day that my Dad goes for his scan, please say a small prayer that things will be okay for him.

Thanks again guys, he went earlier this afternoon and the scan went ok. Full of bruises now on his arms from the blood test and dye injections and cannot take his diabetes tablets for two days. This is NOT a good thing as he's struggling to control this problem at the moment, his blood samples he's doing have been very high!

He's very down at the moment as he doesn't know the outcome, so I've been trying my best to keep him cheerful and on his toes. It's awful seeing him like this, as he's usually quite a content and happy chap

He gets the results next Tuesday hopefully, so fingers crossed for then

Guys, your thoughts and prayers worked!!!!

Thank-you all so much for your kind words and advice on how I was feeling in regards to my Dad being called back. I have wonderful news to report, that the scan came back 'clear', meaning that there's no tumour!! They have told us that there is a 'stress fracture' on his hip joint, but nothing too much to be concerned about. Oh I'm so over-joyed today!

We now have the diabetes to concentrate on, but with time and a little patience this will hopefully level out and become okay. I imagine with the less stress over the results from today will also help.

My birthday (today) has now turned out okay

Again, thank-you to all who replied on the thread and took the time to leave me support. It was very much appriciated. And to all those still in turmoil in whatever way, my thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. Hold on, be strong and give lots of love

Tinks....that is the best news.... I was pretty much around on the 19th, but in my own world thinking about my Mom, who is gone, but had your thoughts in my head as well..

I am so thrilled...thank you God, that this is nothing and that now it is just diabetes, bad enough, he has to deal with daily..... great news...Amen!!!!
