Left the house Friday around 1:30pm and fought the traffic and rain all the way. We arrived around 5:30 and checked in to Kidani Village with no problems. We were assigned room 7556, deluxe studio, which is just about as far from the lobby as you can get but the view was worth it! Jumped a bus to the MK for the customary Caseys hotdog for dinner and then staked out a primo spot to watch the Main Street Electric parade
. The parade was great but we had more fun watching two 4/5 yr old boys watch the parade. They were so excited and very well behaved. After that it was a quick walk to the Jungle Cruise for an after dark ride. The line was walk on and the jokes were still lame at night but the dark gives the ride a totally different feel. We were in line for the bus home as wishes was booming overhead.
Up late Saturday, a quick brunch of frozen Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches and off to AK. Crowds were moderate to light and the weather was perfect. We made our way back to the Safari and for the first time I have ever seen it was walk on
! There were many animals up and about for a very interesting ride. I bet if the fixed that gate the poachers wouldnt keep getting in. We were offered the chance to stay on and ride again but chose to get off and walk back through the trail to see the birds and gorillas. A check of the time showed that it was most definitely time for my lovely bride to eat the ears off of a Mickey bar. From there we walked back to ride the river rapids and as usual we got soaked much to the enjoyment of a couple of young boys that rode along with us. We dried as we walked through Asia checking out the bats and tigers along the way. An early dinner was had at the Yak and Yeti. I highly recommend this restaurant to all. The food was wonderful and there was plenty of it. The Jamin Jungle Parade passed by the windows as we were finishing dinner for an extra treat.
Back to the Village to spend some time checking out the new DVC digs and animals on the savannah. The rest of the evening was spent enjoying being childless
. Up and out the next morning and home with out a hitch. Next trip is a family gathering just before Christmas and that cannot get here soon enough!
