For those who already have used their Nikon D7000 a lot, I have a question.

Just got mine and shot some pics. I deleted a couple in the camera after viewing them and then shot some more a day later. The new ones I shot took the place of the deleted ones from a different day. I don't want this, I just want them to continue on where I stopped from before. I have looked in the manual but can't find what setting needs to be changed.
Any help out there?
Going to the park tomorrow (Disneyland) and want to delete as I preview but don't want the new ones put in the deleted ones place.
Thanks,
Denise

That is strange and I do not have a solution. I do have a suggestion though. You probably should get out of the habit of deleting from the camera. It is probably the #1 reason that causes a memory card to go corrupt. With memory so cheap it is not much of a concern anyway. Also, to clear the card it is better to do it by formatting it in camera instead of deleting all.

Agreed.

Try
menu- shooting/display- (d6) File Number Sequence- turn it on.

I do have this on.

I will do as everyone has said...it will be hard...you know old habits!
My d40X didn't do this...:confused3 guess it's just something I will have to deal with...
now to the park and to remember what all these buttons are for!
thanks everyone....
