D23 Hotel Suggestions? (Asap, please.)

Hi everyone. My mom and I are going to the D23 convention and are looking for a good hotel both in walking distance of Disneyland AND the convention center.
All the Disney hotels are booked or only have $600 a night rooms, so we're staying off property.

Any suggestions for somewhere close? And what's your opinion of Desert Inn and Suites?

I just made a reservation for Friday, Sept 11, at the Anabella. I did make the res through Expedia and the rate was $83 plus tax for the night. We've stayed there before and were very happy with our room and the location. Easy walk to both the Convention Center and the park.

..how about a hotel close to the Convention center? maybe I could swing staying a few extra days and just doing the Expo....(wishful thinking)

We are staying at the Mariott right against the convention center for $98 a night but we had this booked before the expo was announced and we are rewards members, still you could check out their website.

Since the convention is happening the prices go UP. I HATE IT!!

Well..I AM staying extra days and a friend is joining me We booked the Jolly Roger through hotels.com for $62.99 a night. This Expo looks GREAT!
