D23 "Gift"

I think it's pretty. I have one hanging in my dd's room. We got it the last time the did the buy 4 get 3 free. I think it was in 2004.

I love lithographs and I wouldn't mind having that one. Generally I prefer lithographs of the theme parks, but Mickey is my 2nd favorite. It's 20x30 though, that's kind of big. Most of mine are 16x20.

What??? You said it mikelan6..it's a rip off!! I was thinking at least if they sent something good like a nice figurine then the $75 wouldn't bite so bad. But a lousy lithograph? I'm not joining.

Thanks for posting the link though, I was curious to know what the "free" gift was. (free my butt)

I love that lithograph. I can't afford $75 to get it, but I don't think it's a bad gift at all. It's perfect for the people that D23 is targeting.

Probably worth about $11

Well...the disney twenty three publication (I won't call it a magazine because really its a quarterly soft cover book) is $16/issue....and $16 X 4 is $64....and $75 minus $64 = $11...so I'm thinking that is a perfectly acceptable gift for D23 members.

Its not really a gift if its included in the Joining fee.

So glad I didn't join and anticipate the free gift. I'd personally rather have a pin.

It's a little creepy. Mickey to the world, "Let's put a smile on that face!"

I am so glad that I didn't join. And I agree that it's a little creepy. I have a few lithographs at home, but this one is just very boring. Not impressed at all. Can't wait to hear what Pete has to say about this one!

I have the same one ;) We have several spread around the house for decorations.

I thought that this lithograph was a D23 member exclusive? If so, than why do some people already have it?

That link just brings me to the main page of their site- and if I go into the 'blog' section and find the link there, again it takes me to their main page. I wonder if they took the picture down?

I want to see creepy mickey! :(

I just got my lithograph yesterday. It is BEAUTIFUL! The pic posted does not do it justice. For me, this alone was worth the cost of membership. Even DH agrees. Very high quality. The magazine is gorgeous also. So far, after receiving the lithograph, first magazine, and certificate, I feel that the cost has been more than worth it!

For those calling it a rip-off, remember, value is subjective. As an example, a friend of mine loves going to a local steak house where she and her husband normally spend about $80 per person on a single meal with drinks. They find value in the quality of their food and the dining experience. Personally, I could never bring myself to pay that much for a single meal, but for them, it is worth it. I would never dream of telling them that they were getting ripped off...not only would it be incorrect considering the value they place on the experience, it would frankly be rude. Just something to consider...
