I am attending this year's expo, it will be my first. I would like to fly home Sunday evening, is there a place to check luggage at the Expo? Also if I am there all three days, but leave early on Sunday will I be missing anything? Do they usually have the best things last?

TIA

You'd probably be best checking your luggage at your hotel. Sunday evenings are pretty quiet, not usually aren't any "big" presentations.

I agree with Tom and usually do the same thing and make plans to fly back Sunday. There is usually at least one worthwhile thing to do on Sunday morning (depending on your definition of worthwhile - it may be a lot more than one). But the most exciting sessions are typically on Friday and Saturday.

As for luggage, yes leave it at your hotel. There will be no good place to leave it at the Expo.

It's hard to predict the Expo content, because each one has been different...

In 2013, Sunday was quieter in terms of the big presentations, there was only one D23 Arena presentation (12:00pm - 1:30pm, Disney Interactive), but there were panels in the smaller rooms through 6:30pm (I'm looking at a schedule, my memory is not *that* good!). But also in 2013, there was no separate Parks and Resorts presentation and they split the Studios presentation into two events, Animation on Friday and Live Action on Saturday. The Legends presentation was in the afternoon. In 2011, the Legends were done Friday morning, Parks and Resorts was Friday afternoon and the Studios went way long Saturday morning.

So it's hard to know.

On the Sunday of the 2013 Expo, the last presentation was by oldhotelguy on the history of the DLH. It was one of the highlights of Expo for us, and we would have been very sorry to have missed it. So while the big events do tend to happen earlier in the weekend, there are things worth sticking around for at the end.

Does anyone remember from the 2013 D23 Expo when they started announcing the "big" scheduled events? I really want to go to this year's Expo, but I'd like a general idea of what to expect (I've followed all three previous expos from home). So far they haven't really said much about this year's offerings (obviously I don't expect them to ruin any surprises they are planning). It would require me to fly cross-country, so I've really got to decide soon!

I don't believe the full schedule came out until sometime in July or early August, it was very close to the Expo itself... I just looked, 2013's schedule seems to have been released on or around July 30th, the event was August 9th - 11th.

That is what I remember from 2013...

Hey Guys,
So I just saw that D23 is having a costume contest. I've been reading the rules but I can't tell if I can enter the costumes I made for my son and daughter? I've worked really really hard on them and they are for our DisneyWorld trip this october but though HEY it would be fun to compete... They are all my orginal designs and work just made not to fit me!
They are Belle and Beast, my designs are inspired by Disney's Electrical Light parade. I think I might have a shot at being a finalist. Here's a video of my daughters dress:

Second question is best suggestion for how to take a picture to enter lol... send a split screen of them in costume lights on and lights off in the 8x10 size?
Thanks for your thoughts!
(here is my son's almost finished costume)

Love them! They are only allowing 15 entries in each category. I wonder how they are chosen. Good luck!

Do you think I'll be able to enter, I'm over 18 but it didn't say anything about Minors being able to participate? I watch D23 from 2013 on youtube and there was one child but it sounded like they had a youth category.

My guess is no, as the language suggests the contestant must be the one in the photo submitted, and that contestants must be over 18. Maybe you can email your question to the email address listed CORP.D23EXPO.MOUSEQUERADE@DISNEY.COM

That looks fantastic, and I love the colors!

I won't be entering the costume contest, but I'm definitely thinking about giving the Design Challenge a try!

We are thinking about coming in three or four days before the Expo to go to the Parks". I am thinking we might want to move to a hotel closer to the convention center. Any suggestions?

Same thing for us. We decided on BWPPI for DLR then Hilton next to the ACC for the Expo.

Same for me too. I'm debating between the Paradise Pier Hotel for 3 or 4 days before the Expo then Best Western Stovall's Inn during the Expo, or the Best Western the entire time. I really like having the early entry to the parks by staying at a Disney hotel, but I have to convince myself it's worth the extra cost. I have to fly cross-country, so I'm looking at air rates too.

By the way, I like your "Whenever candle lights flicker..."!
