D23 Expo - Hotel Indigo?

First trip to DL! Booked 4 nights @ Hotel Indigo. Using hotel points = free stay. Planning on at least (1) day to check out the expo and (2) days at the parks. Enough time? Good hotel? Hoping DVC @ Grand California will be available, but need a backup. Thanks in advance.

Unless you own at VGC, you can probably expect no availability at the 7 month window.

But if you don't mind converting your DVC points to hotel points, GCH and DLH are great

For your expo day, if you don't mind switching resorts, I would suggest staying at one of the three convention hotels so there isn't much walking

The Indigo is a very nice hotel but if I were you I would stay 3 days at Disneyland.

Indigo Hotel is our go to place to stay for free as well when we can't get in VGC ! Never ever had any problems or issues! Service is always good! Enjoy your time!

The Indigo is fine for the parks, but far for Expo. Unless you don't plan to return to your hotel room during the day (e.g. to drop off purchases or to rest), I would stay closer to the convention center for your Expo day.

Thanks for the advice. Will probably just tough out the distance for the expo - rather not switch hotels - already staying at 3 hotels for this trip. I will check out point options for DL hotels.

Convention rate was available for Paradise Pier - figured we will take advantage of early mornings. Made the reservation!
Now it's just a matter of waiting 11 months.
