D23 Expo 2011! Who's attending?

Just curious, does anyone know if you can use Disney Gift Cards or Disney Reward Cards to make purchases at the Expo?

The Expo website does not list gift cards or reward cards on the site.

But does say that they will accept credit cards, so I assume that the Disney Visa Rewards card will be accepted.

At the first Expo most of the vendors on the convention floor were not Disney Corporation related. The food vendors were also not Disney related.

The D23 Expo Dream Store did accept the DLR AP for discounts on the merchandise at the 2009 D23 Expo.

The Sorceror and Premiere package holders have received a pre-order e-mail for the Expo. It does state that you can use your AP for discounts with this order.

So - for you folks who went last time, how far in advance should we get in line? One hour, two? Also, do they have lockers at the convention center for a quick place to stash your cell phone to avoid the lengthy process of storing it?

Someone on Facebook asked about the release date of the complete schedule, and D23 posted that it'd be released about 1 - 2 weeks beforehand. So it'll probably be early August before we know it all.

Hopefully there will more than those presentations happening, in 2009 the Arena was busy all day. They do not have any lockers so either leave the phone in the car/hotel or check it.

It depends on the presentation for how early you should line up. The more celebrities or potential celebrities the bigger the crowd.

So far, for $500 bucks, I'm not feelin' too much woo-hoo. Here's hoping it gets better.

In general, other than the Legends and the Wizards cast, I seem to recall that most of the other celebrities were surprises during the feature film presentation. I heard there were also many other Disney legends in attendance if you had good seats, but we were in the cheap seats and can't say from direct experience. -- Suzanne

I shelled out the $500.00 as well. And I did attend the opening day of the first Expo. I expect to be WOW'ED!!! Don't get discouraged. With my expierence with Disney Parties they are always over the top and never disappoint. I will be completely shocked if you feel like you wasted a dime.

Hell, I'm $2,000 into this (just for 2 tickets), plus the airfare and stay at PP hotel!

Knowing Disney, I have a feeling that they will suprise us with an AMAZING expo! I'd rather be surprised than know every little thing going into it. Just my $.02.

Yes your right I am way in more than the $500.00, transportation, Hotel,...but, I do not ever count food as I have to eat where ever I am...
