D23 Disappointment

So, I know I need to get over this, but I need a "waah" moment here. I've had a Gold membership for the longest time, and it seems that I'm always late to the party when they announce events that I'm actually able to attend. May 1st event at the Studios - I saw that there was an Instagram post from last night - and of course - the event is already sold out.

My emails are filled up by every other thing - except this type of thing!! I hate that you have to be glued to social media, and there's really no warning of events - and out of town members can just suck it up and deal when they miss events.

OK, rant over. Another event missed. Why am I paying for this membership, anyway...?

That is in part why I did not renew my D23 membership, everything interesting fills up instantly. I don't have time in my life for that.

I pretty much accepted that I was paying for Gold for the annual gift (although last year I did get free movie tickets which was something) and I was mostly okay with that...until this year. With the renewal price jumping thirty dollars, the lack of events offended near me, and the fact that anything that is offered sells out pretty much immediately, I’m seriously questioning renewing Gold again.

If you keep an eye on the D23 website, it lists all the events for a long way out and tells when each goes on sale as it gets closer. They do sell out very quickly, but if you are trying the morning they go on sale, at least you have a fighting chance.

If you look on their site at Upcoming Events - this is still not listed there - it's now on their homepage.

I see it under Upcoming Events. Anyway, there have been events I've missed out on because I didn't check frequently enough and didn't even know about them, but they have the whole year planned out and listed, even if there isn't any information about it yet.

Is it just me, or is anyone else bored with the magazine? I just flip through, yawn, put it on the shelf.
