Thrilled that DCL continues to expand its fleet! Been cruising since 2006 and have been fortunate to experience all of them. I'm assuming that the Treasure and the Destiny will pretty much have the same deck plans as the Wish but can we PLEASE have adult areas that aren't an afterthought on the new ships?! Now before you decide to blast me about Disney being for families, I've cruised with 4 children from 5-12yrs old for many years, and we all recently went on a cruise together now that they are 23-30yrs old. We have only ever sailed on Disney. We know that there are tons of kids but now that we have also sailed as an adult couple, we appreciate well thought out outdoor areas (especially Satellite Falls with some real shade options and a hot tub that isn't down the deck around the corner). I don't know if the obvious lack of adult outdoor space was to to entice people to purchase the Rainforest Room (which we did on the Wish and we thoroughly enjoyed the private space). But it was a hefty price for just a 3-day cruise pass, but to us was worth the beautiful retreat. Will be on a 7-day on the Treasure and will save for the pass. There were times that we were literally the only ones in there on the Wish.

Can we also have a deck again where you can run/walk the entirety without stairs and dead ends? Don't get me wrong--the Wish is a beautiful ship and if it was my first time cruising I would be blown away. We have plans to experience the Treasure at the end of January and will book the Destiny as well to experience the theming. I'm just really holding on to some hope that DCL will take into account that the adults (who pay for the outstanding family experience), need some love again too.

One can dream

Is the same person in charge of ship design? Any idea if she has heard the feedback?

Amen to all this.

There is not a lot to go off of. We just know that Meyer Werft is building them and it is their single largest value order in their history. We do not know size, passenger count or anything of the sort. We don't really even know if Disney is going to be delivering a new class of ship or if these are just newer Triton class ships.

My guess is that they will be similar sized to the Triton class, will keep the ocean liner theming of the brand. Will stick to the dining format of the previous classes with a new concept for the second upcharge venue to progress from Remy to Enchante to new. I think they might progress the more dining hall venue of Marceline Market and what Virgin offers over a return to Cabanas style.

I am guessing a parabolic bow is probably on the cards as well. Unfortunately. NCL, Royal and Celebrity have moved into this direction because of its benefits to fuel burn and stability so I think Disney will follow.

How about a steady cruise out of NY?!! As much as I love going to Florida and hitting up the theme parks and a cruise, I'd love to just hop on a ship right from home! We have a 4 night Magic cruise booked next August and then into a 5 night stay at AKL!

I forgot to add that with 4 additional ships by 2031 on top of the planned permanent Singapore and Yokohama vessels. The Magic and Wonder are heading into the twilight of their careers.

It will be sad when the Classic ships are retired

But they say with proper routine maintenance they could last 50 yrs, albeit at a slightly higher cost.
When we spoke with the Captain of the Wonder last year he mentioned that he specifically wanted to come aboard the Wonder for a chance to do it before it retired. His speculation was that both the Magic and Wonder would be retired within a "few" years because of the higher maintenance/operation costs vs. the amount of passengers/cabins they can serve.

But I also feel hopeful that they'll have some good years left (and am really hoping the Magic sails out of San Diego or L.A. in 2026)

I wonder if after they have seen the layout of the Disney Adventure if the next ships would have more things like it does with things like interior veranda cabins like RCL does and also have more tghigs inside to be able to avoid bad weather on the top decks.

I am pretty sure your wish will be granted. We are booked on the WBPC cruise on the Magic to San Diego in April, 2026!

Remember that that behemoth was already pretty much built before Disney took it over. They are basically just putting Disney lipstick on it.

I personally hope they stick with a more traditional SHIP and not "castle" route with the new ones. Let people who want things like Royal has go on Royal. If cruise lines are going to survive as independent companies, they need to not all be carbon copies of the others.
