D23 2015

Battlefront looks incredible (Avail Dec 1 if preordered).

Am I correct that it is NOT on WiiU or Mac? Does this mean I have to buy PS4 or something?!? :-/

ETA: Well, there you go. I guess I'm not alone. Announcing a SW PS4 console/bundle. FINE!!!!!

Xbox One, PS4, and PC. The WiiU wouldn't be able to handle the graphics.

Disney Magic Kingdoms mobile game (iOS & Android) announced - sounds like fun!

@DisneyInteract tweets:

"Just announced: #DisneyMagicKingdoms. A mobile game to build your own @disneyparks with attractions around the world. http://t.co/uW3WO89wvI"

""The game is a magical, representation of the parks - plus some fun storytelling and surprises." - Walt Disney Imagineer Tom Morris"

It's just like the real thing...design your park and hit "enter". Five years later its ready to enjoy!!! (Sorry couldn't resist.)

I agree that "Star Wars Groundbreaking in 2017" is disappointing, unless it means they are going to be preparing the sites during that time and working on Toy Story land first. Of course we act like that is forever...2017 is sixteen months away which is not forever. I know it should come as no surprise that Disney does everything this slow at this stage. (Deferring costs and all.) It's a little sad, but also a fact of the way they do things.

I don't think it's a surprise that there is that much of a delay at DLR. They have to do some serious rearranging to prepare the backstage area - that is NOT going to be an easy job to do.

My idea to go to D23 in 2019 seems like a good idea. They'll be just showing all the new ride concepts in detail by then and crowing about how they are only a year and a half from opening.

Did they say when at all?

Did they say when at all?
Not that I've seen yet. "When?" is my question about everything! I'm big at planning ahead and love having cool things to look forward to. I just like putting them on the calendar sooner rather than later... :)

When did this thread get so negative? We don't even know if the 2017 groundbreaking is real yet or not!1

I haven't paid too much attention to the expos until now though I've been a D23 member from the beginning. Is the next one in Anaheim in 2019??

I'm still super excited about everything I've heard yesterday and today! I'd love it all to open tomorrow (!!), but don't mind having cool things to look forward to rolling out over the next several years. I've always been good at delayed gratification, though. :)

I'm patient, and I only think the 2017 groundbreaking date was thrown out to accommodate for relocating the backstage services (in Disneyland at least). I personally also think the Slinky Dog coaster is one of the coolest ideas that I never thought of (and it seemed from everything I read no one saw it coming!). I think it's going to be great. I hope Disney has more up it's sleeve to announce however

oh jeez…

and they'll nickel and dime you with fees and up charges during construction - long before anyone ever gets on the rides.

…its hard being a "good guy" when everyone else is being evil around here :)

goes to pattern…

if everyone was still doing cartwheels…i'd worry more about disney's longterm future. because all their customers will go bankrupt in spending stupidity before too long and the parks would collapse with no customers left.

bright side ;)

The expo is held every two years so the next one would be in 2017, most likely in Anaheim. Maybe D23 members can attend the groundbreaking ceremony for Star Wars land at Disneyland at the next expo!
