I agree that "Star Wars Groundbreaking in 2017" is disappointing, unless it means they are going to be preparing the sites during that time and working on Toy Story land first. Of course we act like that is forever...2017 is sixteen months away which is not forever. I know it should come as no surprise that Disney does everything this slow at this stage. (Deferring costs and all.) It's a little sad, but also a fact of the way they do things.
I don't think it's a surprise that there is that much of a delay at DLR. They have to do some serious rearranging to prepare the backstage area - that is NOT going to be an easy job to do.
My idea to go to
D23 in 2019 seems like a good idea. They'll be just showing all the new ride concepts in detail by then and crowing about how they are only a year and a half from opening.
