I saw this in an old navigator from a trip report for a 3 night cruise and I was wonderinng if they still do it on Saturday?

Yes, they do; however it has changed a little bit and is now called "Friendship Rocks". The kids get a free t-shirt (each age group gets a different color), but not graduation caps. It is usually late in the afternoon on the last full day and held in the Walt Disney Theatre.

it'll still be cute, but not as cute as the old program. I wonder why they changed it. Thanks for the info!!

It could have changed because after 4 years the kids were getting tired of it? The new format has them singing the We Rock song from camp rock, which most of the kids know and like, so they can get into it a bit more too. My kids opted out of getting another Tshirt on the last cruise but would have gone with the new program. Unfortunantly they missed it by a couple cruises.

It was our 1st cruise and they loved the songs.

They both LOOKED for us in the audience.

I would think that the kids who go often enough to 'get tired of it' are in a distinct minority as most people don't go on DCL every year or even every couple years. :)

No graduation caps now? Thank goodness! I was hoping we wouldn't have any to bring back this cruise. The 2 we have take up half my Disney bin!

The Friendship Rocks is at least the third major revision of the kid programming. Many kids sail frequently, so change can be a good thing...and is part of DCL's goals of continuous improvement.

We sail often, though my daughter has only done 2 graduations, and will miss the old graduation ceremony. My daughter will be 5.5 on our next cruise this summer and has never seen nor heard of Camp Rock so this won't have any meaning for her. Though she may be in the minority overall, I am betting most 3-5yos haven't seen it so this would be just like any other graduation ceremony to them.

I'm not upset they changed it though, as I know things have to change and am all for that, but we will miss the old format too!

We felt the same way when it changed from the "Remember the Magic" program to the D U Sea program. They'll love it even if they don't know where it came from.

I still tear up when the kids watch those older graduation programs and the music plays. :)
