D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Thanks, Katharina!

By the way, I really hope to get another question up later today- make sure to check back later on!

I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you. I know that saying good-bye isn't an easy thing to do.

Liessa I fully understand the WRENCH as Katarina so correctly put it !! When I left England , my father had just had Heart surgery and I was soooo devastated about that on top of leaving all my friends and family !!! It took along time before America became HOME!!!

Ok, little Mouseketeers, here's your answer to Question #5 of Ready, Set, Remember:

The question, in case you missed it, was, "What is the event we were really looking forward to, but got cruelly aced out of?"

Of course, it was Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party- which ended up starting the day after we leave. I came THIS close to extending my trip, but had already booked my flights, and it would have costed too much money.

You can find the post about my disappointment

HERE

Glennbo, being the cut-up that he is, has aptly nicknamed it, Mickey's Not So Sure It's Happening Party! :lmao::rotfl2::lmao::rotfl2::lmao:

Yeah, thanks, Disney!

HOWEVER!! Disney has redeemed itself VERY slightly! I am leakishly excited to tell you (a lot of you already know this) that they have extended the dates of the Main Street Electrical Parade! The blog here on DIS made this announcement, and you can read it

HERE

You have NO idea how excited I am about this!! It is one of the top 3 things that brings back a flood of childhood memories. I vividly remember standing on a mild summer evening watching this parade bopping up and down to the funky cool music, being completely WOWED by the Pete's Dragon float, and wishing the moment would never end. I put in my music CD of this parade for the first time in about 5 years and it literally brought me to tears. I love it THAT much!!

Moving on...

Quesion #6 runs along the same vein as Q#5:

What special hard ticket event are ALL 3 of us going to that doesn't involve eating? (Hint, it's in a link, not in the chit-chat)

:woohoo: I'll be at work untill 4.30 pm CET, I hope you post it before I leave work :)

There ya go, Buckaroo! ;)

I just wanted to let you know that I'm thinking about you. I know that saying good-bye isn't an easy thing to do.

I really needed that hug today, Sophia, thanks to you and Katharina!

Liessa I fully understand the WRENCH as Katarina so correctly put it !! When I left England , my father had just had Heart surgery and I was soooo devastated about that on top of leaving all my friends and family !!! It took along time before America became HOME!!!

And you TOO, Rosie!! We have lived here long enough that it very much is home in many ways.

I think we must be the Early Birds this morning ..But you can have the WORM!!!!

Yes, you are all on very early!! I"m just about to start dinner!

mhm, I have to do some research, fortunately this is no Judy-sighting game, so I don't have to hurry!

It is La Nouba at Cirque du Soleil

You have so many great things planned for this trip!

Yes, you have to be lined up at the starting line for that one!

It is

You have so many great things planned for this trip!

I think we really have some nice plans! IF we make it to everything, it will be quite ambitious, yet VERY fun!

I think that would be Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba tickets!

That's going to be awesome, we need to do that sometime...when I can work it into the budget.

• No peanut butter, brown sugar, popcorn or cream cheese in the markets

No peanut butter?!?! I would die!!!

• Seeing camels when we drive to our friends’ homes

You could always buy one as a pet when you get back to the states :rolleyes1 And you missed something on the "What you're most looking forward to when you get back" list - DC MEET!!!! :woohoo:

The answer for Question #6 took some digging but I think I've got it. Here's my answer:

La Nouba Cirque Du Soleil

Wow, I'm kinda jealous right now. I forgot that you were doing this.

• Dodging spit, dog poop and other forms of raw sewage wherever I walk

That is sometimes a problem in NYC too. Ick. The dog poop is rare, but it happens. And it's not generally raw sewage, but looks like it! One time a guy unzipped right in front of me, stood at the corner of a building and peed. I had to step over his pee puddle.

• No peanut butter, brown sugar, popcorn or cream cheese in the markets

I would crave popcorn if I knew I couldn't get it! Is popcorn on your snack list?

• Hearing the horrible stories of my friends who are beaten in their own homes by their husbands

Oh man. :sad2: That would be the hardest thing.

• Doritos
• Starbucks (and free WiFi)

Did you know there is a Starbucks at the Swolphin?

Want me to bring you a bag of Doritos for your trip? :goodvibes

I am SO stinkin' excited about the MSEP! I love that music!! I love me some Spectro, but it will be a real treat to see this. We have a Wishes Dessert Party planned for the same night we are meeting up - so I gotta figure out a day we can come back to MK to see it! I would rather check in early for the dessert party so I can completely gorge myself on chocolate covered strawberries at the soonest available moment, rather than watching the parade and coming later. Gotta tweak the plans...:scratchin I really need to start a PTR when I'm doing these "thought discussions" on someone else's PTR! Sorry about that!

Anyway - answer: Cirque!!

YES! You really do need to do this! At least once!

Nope, we can get locally ground stuff, but it is NOT even close to say Jif or even Adams. It's VERY course, and goes rancid fairly quickly. And expensive!

You're right I am definitely looking forward to the Meet, but was trying to be a bit more general. Unless we wanted to all just get really rich, really fast, and meet up for coffee once a month, and have annual Meets at the Motherland once every months. :rotfl2:

That's the point of the game- to make sure things are fresh in your minds before we head out!! I think a lot of you have forgotten a lot of our details!

That is sometimes a problem in NYC too. Ick. The dog poop is rare, but it happens. And it's not generally raw sewage, but looks like it! One time a guy unzipped right in front of me, stood at the corner of a building and peed. I had to step over his pee puddle.

Happens regularly here. I wish I had my camera handy sometimes- what we see is just unbelievable sometimes!

I would crave popcorn if I knew I couldn't get it! Is popcorn on your snack list?

Funny how we crave what we can't have! Well, actually after a while you forget about it, and start to love the things here. I will really miss the Korean salads that we eat here!

Nope, no popcorn on my snack list- too many other things there that I can't make at home.

Oh man. :sad2: That would be the hardest thing.

VERY!

Didn't know that! But I"m bringing my own! Ditto on the Doritos. mary's gonna do some shopping for us! ;)

ME too!!! Uh-oh!! does our Meet have to be re-scheduled?? Hmmm....

I really don't mind your musings here! REALLY!! But you know you have a devoted following too, if you want to start one. Either way! ;)

A big old  from me to you (I'd send cookies, but I gave them all to Brian). ;)

I read on FB that your shipment arrived safely at the Cargo company and is awaiting shipment to Portland. This is excellent news.

Thanks, Kathy!! I am so thankful it arrived- the train from here to there was one leg I was truly anxious about. Now it's insured- before that, anything could go!

Liesa,
Answer to #6 is La Nouba Cirque du Soleil I too would LOVE to see this one of these days but Patrick really doesn't and trying to watch something like this with a Aspie 10 yr old who doesn't yea not going to happen...maybe we can see it if Travis and I come down to the World on a couple trip...hmmm ideas are forming in my head....:)

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:to you and your family during this trying time filled with both heartache as well as excitement. May the Lord guide your steps as you leave his Good word behind you in the hearts and souls of people who before didn't know his love and May you walk in his love forever as you do His work here on Earth, no matter where that it as there are lost sheep looking for the Lord everywhere.

Ah very good about the Starbucks and Doritos! :thumbsup2

I think I am still good for a 6ish Corny Meet. The party doesn't start until 9, so we've got 3 hours in there. MSEP will start at 9 that night too. If you need to reschedule we can though!

I hope to get the final thoughts up today or tomorrow and then get that PTR started!!! I'm excited to share it all!

I didn't see that on FB! I stink about keeping caught up there. What a relief and an answer to prayer!!! :yay:

Why that would be Cirque du Soleil, La Nouba, in DTD! I'd LOVE to see that. it will be worth every penny

YAY for boxes arriving safely and  for goodbyes...
