D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

I just wanted to share something totally amazing, and wonderful and downright cool from Sunday. Most of you know that we've been working here for years- many years. We've had medical emergencies, lonliness, disagreements with neighbors, visits by the secret police, you name it...

But I'd take that, and 100 days in a row of 115 degree weather, 200 dog bites, sketchy internet, AND only carrots, potatoes and onion all winter long to see one man come to the Lord, as we got to see yesterday.

I wept as he said he been searching so long for peace with God; it was beautiful beyond words.

I think it was the Lord's sweet way of confirming to us that we can leave in peace from here, knowing we've made even just one small difference.

Just had to share that.

Yep, that and Kodachrome, Slip Slidin' Away, Me and Julio, Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes (from Graceland album).

Now it's kodachrome AND fake cheese sauce swimming in my brain. Mmmm.... :cloud9:

Having consumed enough cabbage to make GB proud, we hiked back to our rooms, waving our hands behind us. ;)
:lmao: Forget chopping wood. You created your own Banya! Excellent job!

And THAT was just too awesome. God is good.

Awesome story...thanks for sharing.

I've lost track of who I've responded to... forgive me and my addled brain!

It's totally understandable, you've been through a trauma. So your off your game a little, no biggie.

You are right- it was a Disney flick. I am definitely willing to give it another try; sometimes movies take a few times to grow on me. The Incredibles was like that for me, and now it's one of my favorites.

The Incredibles were the same way for me at first too, so I totally know what you mean. I think you'll end up liking the movie. :goodvibes

7 Puppies!?

Never done the puppy thing but I had gerbils growing up. They had plenty of babies. I learned the hard way that gerbil babies need to be left untouched, when the parents ate the ones that smelled like humans. I think I still carry the scar of that.

We had gerbils too growing up, and yes I went throught the trauma of knowing one day there were six and the next there were five.:scared1:

Out of that whole update, the thing I most want to post is "hey, I liked 'Meet the Robinsons'!" Maybe because I thought it was going to be really bad and it exceeded my low expectations, I don't know.
I think I had the exact same thoughts when I first saw it. :goodvibes

Don't mean to be coy, Roy.

Slip out the back Jack!

Makes it all worth it huh? <big happy sigh> I remember the first time I lead someone to the Lord, I think it was almost a bigger high than coming to Christ myself. I felt I had finally tapped into my purpose. I'm sure you feel the same way. Way to go God!! Way to go Liesa for being a co-laborer with Christ! :woohoo:

Liesa, it is wonderful that there are situations which make it worthwile for you to do what you do! :goodvibes

Oh wow, that field of flowers is so pretty!

Wow..thanks for sharing that little story with us Liesa about that man.

In for a little late night posting, eh??

The smoked sardines actually aren't too bad- in a picnicky sort of way...

Potential TRIP ramifications of hand injuries:

1) I'll have to ask someone to unzip my pants for me in the ladies' room.

2) Proper Dole Whip consumption ceases to exist.

3) One-handed photos will be very interesting.

4) Washing hair? Forget it.

5) Holding on with both hands would be highly unlikely.

6) One would have to pick up the entire bratwurst at Biergarten and eat it like a Neanderthal Man.

I do hope your hand is better by then, BUT your ramifications will make for great TR fodder...;)

good morning!

I have jumped 'back in the game!' although i have not a clue what is going on.... Well, that is not entirely true. I know you have puppies and was 'chomping' at the bit to get a hold of one of those little buggers. I know you were paid a visit from a higher up.. No not a chimney..or was it? I know that you had your (ahemmm) vacation (read your last update). I know you are only 3 months away from paradise!!!!

Besides that, you can be staying in cinderella's castle for 10 days and i would have no idea. :confused3 another may/june has come and gone for me and i am pooped. I need a vacation...and have an ap that expires october 3rd! I was looking online the other night and there were rooms for aug/sept and some mods for $75 and values at $53. Way better than my ap rate. We have also received pin after pin- in email and snail mail too.

I 'popped' the question to mel about possibly going in september but she doesn't have the time from work. I guess our 2 week extravaganza in march has something to do with that. Oh well, it was just a thought.

I can't promise i'll be here everyday from here on out, but my hiatus is over. I am really looking forward to hearing about your move and of course your trip. I'm back baby! :lmao::lmao:

tim!!!!!!!!

 Liesa!!! I am finally all caught up...tears shed, a few giggles and many worries over your hand - which I hope is looking and feeling better today. BUT this last did me in tear wise - indeed, God is good.

I must agree that you have at least one book in you...me suspects more than one. It would be a gift and blessing to all who would have the opportunity to read such a book. :goodvibes

P.s. How's the doglet mama and her pups doing? She couldn't help it..her mama instincts jumped is - something we can appreciate - although I am very sorry she made flesh contact .

Didn't Tim post a really bad view on the "Room view Thread'? Who was that?!!
Yes.. it was yours truly!!!!!!

http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=35500666&postcount=286

I agree whole heartedly Liessa !! Reminds me of the Starfish Story!!! You made a difference to that one :cloud9:

Christine pointed out to me that I had trees in front of my room , I hadn't noticed !!!:rotfl2::rotfl2: My favorite spot at Pop is to sit on the benches in the morning by the Lake !! It is soo peaceful and pretty!!:cloud9:

Yep, one of my little known gifts. :rotfl: I was checking out your room on google earth as you were walking finding it, yes? That was a great room location - trees were not bad at all.:thumbsup2

It is so nice to sit by the lake mornings...of course, all the benches have been taken over!! ;) :goodvibes

My butt doesn't hurt NEARLY as much as I thought it should. Now I'm hoping that they even gave me the right thing! :scared1: You can't get dog vaccines here, as far as I know. Nor snip jobs- which we'd have done A LLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOONG time ago had they been available!!!

I HAD NO IDEA!!! I am SO THERE!!!! :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo: I"m so dense, if no one tells me- it takes me a long time!!

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised that you can't get vaccines or snip jobs. It seems to be on the bottom of the to-do list outside of North America and parts of Europe. Too bad those male dogs can't keep things under control!!

I love the fact that you referenced Sound of Music. I :lovestruc that movie. I grew up watching it. My favourite scene is the puppet show with the yodellers. Can't get enough of that song. :thumbsup2 And Julie Andrews is fantastic...in that and in Mary Poppins

:lmao: Forget chopping wood. You created your own Banya! Excellent job!

And THAT was just too awesome. God is good.

I had cabbage in copious amounts for 2 weeks. It had to have SOME effect...

:scared:

It was a mountain top moment, for sure!

Awesome story...thanks for sharing.

A feel good story- for a change.

The Incredibles were the same way for me at first too, so I totally know what you mean. I think you'll end up liking the movie. :goodvibes

We were only a small part in this man's life... he had heard 3 times from others over the last few years. Then the couple we directly work with, actually shared with him, so in effect is was somewhat indirect, but we do take some ownership- but only a far 2nd to what God Himself did in his heart.

Liesa, it is wonderful that there are situations which make it worthwile for you to do what you do! :goodvibes

If it weren't for that/those, I'd have been out of here after about 6 months.

Oh wow, that field of flowers is so pretty!

Wow..thanks for sharing that little story with us Liesa about that man.

It was fun practicing with my POS camera on the flowers; I think I'm almost ready for WDW.

Definitely was an exciting day yesterday!!

I do hope your hand is better by then, BUT your ramifications will make for great TR fodder...;)

It still looks like a swelled up puffer fish. Balloon hand or no, there's always good TR material- you just have to look hard enough for it. ;)

tim!!!!!!!!

Great to have a regular back!

Great story about the man.....I may have shed a tear or two.

They were all happy tears, I'm sure! :woohoo:
