Does anyone have information on Cypress Pointe Grand Villa? I checked it out on HotelKingdom.com and it sounds like just what we're looking for. However there are conflicting rates on their website.
The first time I went to the site it listed 1 BR at $67, 2 BR at $92... the second time I got a completely different list (no 1 BR, 2 BR - $70)
Got any idea what that's all about? Somewhere I saw it mentioned that there is a Cypress Pointe Phase I and a Phase II. If so, what's the difference?

Thanks for any info!
Planning our first ever WDW trip next May!

tuggers like this resort very much.

some think it is a much better location than Sheraton's Vistana - you can walk to more things.

as far as the pricing - I seem Hotelkingdom do this several times - I have no ideal why or what is wrong?

make sure this is the address

8651 Treasure Cay Lane
Lake Buena Vista, Fl 32830

if this is not the address - then this is not the one I am talking about.

Cypress Pointe (phase 1) is the older section...and has the lower rates on Hotelkingdom. I understand that CP is in the process of being renovated, many units are already complete and the entire renovation is due to be done in the spring. Cypress Pointe Grande Villas is the newer (phase 2) section and the higher price on HK reflects it. I haven't stayed there myself, but we are hoping to in April...hopefully in a renovated CP unit.

They have a web page that shows that difference between the two:

http://www.cypresspointe.net/phase.html

The older part is called Cypress Pointe and the new part is Cypress Pointe Grand Villas.

There is alot of information on the disboards regarding this resort.
If you go to search it will pull up quite a bit of information that you will find quite helpful.

Our family stayed at CPGV last Easter for ~80.00/night for a 2 bedroom. This year we are gambling that all the villas at CP will be completed by March as scheduled (I checked on TUG Monday and an owner posted that they were still on track) and we booked a 2 bedroom for the same price (77.70 w/tax).

Hotel Kingdom/CP does charge the total upfront for the property. We had to reschedule a trip 2 years ago booked thru them and didn't have a problem getting our refund (with the exception of the 15.00 fee, which is now 20.00).

2 minnies,

We're hoping that all of the renovations will be done by April. We want to book CP through HK, but have to save up the $$ to do so...almost $1000, which will take us a bit! I was kind of disheartened to learn there wasn't a smaller deposit required with the balance due at check in. And I'm concerned that there may be no availability by the time we're able to book! So I'm trying to convince DH that we should book another "cancellable" back up resort just in case...

BTW, how was the CPGV at Easter? Was the resort really crowded? Were the pools crowded or was parking a problem? We plan to arrive at the end of the week following Easter Sunday. Thanks for any info!

Last year we were there the week before Easter, leaving Easter Saturday. We spent the most of our time hanging at the pool for this trip, and never found it never to be too crowded. Our room was in building B (CPGV) and faced the turtle pool. Our girls (9 and 6 at the time) liked the turtle pool better than the volcano pool - they said it was warmer. Guests of both resorts can use each others pools, etc. There is also minigolf at CPGV - I think it was $20 for the week to rent putters/balls. Many people who drove (we fly....too far for me from Wisconsin to drive) brought their own clubs/balls and played for "free".
The location can't be beat. Very close to grocery, DTD and shopping (only a few minutes to the great Premium Outlet Mall).
Parking was never a problem.
Let me know if you have any other ?'s.

Thank you for the info, 2minnies! Sounds as though we'll really enjoy it there...I appreciate the mini-golf info too. Wish we had clubs and balls to bring, but alas, we're not golfers! Maybe I can check out the local thrift shops and find some putters--then we could go every year and save that $20 (wonder if DH will fall for that one?)...:smooth:
