We had reservations for last spring at Cypress Pointe...but changed them after we learned of swimming pool renovations that were taking place during our stay. We ended up at Silver Lakes...which we absolutely loved.
We're headed back in September and probably will go with Silver Lakes...unless someone out there can convince us otherwise! Has anyone stayed at Cypress Pointe recently (after renovations last May?) Any comparisons with Silver Lakes?
Thanks!!

We stayed at Silver Lake this past summer and also Cypress Pointe recently. I like CP better because of the location and the roominess of the units. The pool area is all finished and is nicer in my opinion than Silver Lake. They put in new slides.

We did like Silver Lake but like CP better.

We have just traded into Silver Lake for our December trip. I'm glad to hear others have been pleased, but wondered about the location of CP when SL is adjacent. We've stayed at Orbit One, Vistana, and Orange Lake and always thought Silver Lake had the very best location you could get. More about CP would be helpful.

Lisa, I think it comes down to personal preference. We like the general LBV vicinity around CP better, with its close proximity to DD, TL and some good family restaurants. The area buildings and landscaping are just more attractive to us. Also, the LBV is a little more convenient if you plan to visit Universal or Sea World. However, we found it slightly faster/easier to get to the Disney parks from Silver Lake than from Vistana Resort or Homewood Suites LBV (next door to CP) - particularly if there's a lot of evening traffic in the DD area.

They are all so close by that it's probably a toss-up though. Just preference for one area over another.

sorry...not familiar with LBV, DD, TL!
Where is Cypress Pointe exactly? Because we did love how close Silver Lakes was to Disney property.....we could actually see Animal Kingdom from resort...

Lisa P., thanks for the info. It does sound great. I just like to always have in mind places for our yearly timeshare trade. We just came back from Vistana and felt the drive was a breeze. We were there over Thanksgiving and it was no problem. We've also stayed at OL and were not disappointed with the drive either. Orbit One, while not our favorite resort was a great drive and therefore our thinking that Silver Lake will be even better. Thanks again. I keep notes on all these timeshares so I'll be ready to trade each year.

LBV = Lake Buena Vista
DD = Downtown Disney (where the shops & restaurants are located)
TL = Typhoon Lagoon, Disney's water park, not far from DD.

To reach Cypress Pointe, exit DD, and drive down the winding Hotel Plaza Blvd past the Hilton and Courtyard hotels ~ 1 mile to the traffic light, where Crossroads shopping center is straight ahead and the entrance to I-4 is quick right turn. Instead, at that light, you turn LEFT, travel about 2 blocks and turn RIGHT. Cypress Pointe is down that side road.
