These are fairly similar resorts, really. Both are relatively small resorts (easy walk to anywhere within), both offer nice rooms and both are very convenient to the Disney parks. If you want a location closer to Downtown Disney, then choose Sunterra Cypress Pointe. If you want a location in Kissimmee behind Animal Kingdom, then choose Silver Lake.
Given that the price is the same and assuming that the room size is the same, I'd choose the one without a presentation. Nearly all timeshares will offer you an incentive gift to tour when you check in, if you didn't have a promo deal to stay there with an associated tour. So you could be offered discounted tickets or a restaurant gift card or cash to attend a tour once you get there.
All that being said, remember that nearly all timeshare resorts in active sales will permit you to see a model room (sometimes with a sales rep accompanying you) without pressing for a full blown, lengthy sales tour and without incentive gifts tempting you to linger for the full time period. So if there are any you would like to investigate in person, see those first on your own. Just stop by during your vacation between 7:30 am and 3 pm. Some suggestion resorts to see would be (alphabetical order):
DVC's SSR (Disney's onsite)
Fairfield's Bonnet Creek (offsite but next to Disney's CBR)
HGVC Int'l Drive (aka Hilton Tuscany)
Orange Lake
Marriott's Grand Vista and/or Horizons
Sheraton Vistana Villages
These are some of the newest and best to be seen in the region (with especially nice pools, locations and/or amenities), IMHO.
Lastly, DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING while there. Research on the 'net ahead of time, if possible, and understand the system/programs you are considering. Make sure they would suit your intended purposes. Find out if a resale purchase would save you THOU$AND$ by reading
TUG's "Advice" articles and forums about timeshare ownership. Chances are, a resale is a better idea, for most people. HTH!
