We need a room for Saturday night in April prior to the start of our land /sea package with Disney. My family of 4 plus my Mom would like to stay together in a suite or condo style room. The two Hotels I listed at the top came up with pretty reasonable pricing and a 3 star rating. Curious if any of you have stayed at either of these places?

Cypress pointe is highly recommended - don't know about the other one

kept in mind that Cypress Pointe is doing construction and they got damanaged in the hurricane - but if you only want a place to eat/sleep - then it will be fine.

Thanks Pat. I didn't realise that Cypress pointe was under construction. What kind of post hurricane damage are we talking about?

do the search - it has mention here. cypress pointe actually moved some guests.

I've read everything I can find on Cypress Pointe for the last 3 months and this is news to me, too. They are renovating the inside of a few of the buildings on the older part (not the Villas) but this is the first I heard about construction and hurricane damage. Anyone know the details of this?

There was no major damage to CP........just a couple trees fell and a few leaks but everything is fine now. They have been refurbishing Cypress Pointe 1 but nothing terribley wrong. My family are there right now and we fly down this Saturday!:Pinkbounc :bounce:

You'll love this resort!::yes:: :sunny:

Thanks Sandy.......I'm sure we will. We've been staying at CP for the past 10 years and love it each time we go.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

Here's a link to our pictures that we took last year just in case you haven't seen them yet.:D

I'm sure Feb will come fast for you and you'll have a great time too!;)

Wow Sammi have a safe trip. Sounds like Cypress point will be great. Is the newer area, I guess that is phase 2, a better place to stay? Are the 3 bedroom units in the newer area?are there regular rooms and Villas? I just read another post thatwas interesting. The woman said that if you stay at a place like All Star Resort for the night before your Disney hotel reservation starts that Disney will move your luggage for you. Interesting. We will still have to go the hotel to get our passes anyway.

Phase 2 is the newer of both resorts but Phase 1 has been undergoing refurbishment for the past while.:sunny:

There are 3 bedroom units available in both CP's with the 3rd bedroom actually being a "lock out" . My family are owners at CP 2 but since this is an exchange holiday we'll be in Phase 1 and I'll be sure to bring back pics.:D

There are no "hotel" type rooms but there are 1 bedroom units which in CP2 have a small sitting area and kitchen with full bedroom/tv etc.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Sammi, I looked up cypress point on hotelkingdom.com and found rates for phase 1 and 2. $85.00 3 br phase 1 ,$135.00 3br phase 2. Both really good rates. Especially considering what we will be paying at The Polynesian.

Have a great time and fill us in on renovations. Their website use to post progress regularly under "What's New" but it has been dorment lately.

sammi,
I just wanted to say that your granddaughter in your sig is absolutely gorgeous!

I'm glad you cleared that up about any hurricane damage at CP. I have been reading the CP/CPGV posts for several months as we will be there (at CPGV) next week and I was very concerned about any damage.

Should you see a cute red haired boy with freckles, running from his older brother who will no doubt be tormenting him followed by a mom yelling at them to stop, that will be me:teeth: (Then again as I read that description, you may just want to run in the opposite direction;) )

Have a great trip.

Just to conform for you disney will move your luggage between resorts. You leave your stuff with them at check out and go on to the parks, they move it during the day and depending it will be in your new room or at bell services. It is a nice service.:D

LOL Lisa I'll definitely watch out for you all!:teeth:

If you hear a broad Scottish accented lady with a few Canadian speaking cousins (that's us!;) ) then please say hi!

We'll proabably spend alot of time by one of the pools as we expect WDW to be packed!

Have a great time and hope to see you there!:wave2:

PS: Thank you so much for your nice words..........we think Jada's pretty special!;)
