I am confused. I know I have read at one or maybe both of these resorts there is no door on the bathroom or maybe it's the shower room? You have to close the bedroom door for privacy. Is that correct? Can someone please tell me which resort that is? I would like to have a door on my bathroom...lol. THANKS!

We just stayed in a 1 bed at the GrandeVillas and there is no door leading into the bathroom. There is a door at the toilet area. The whirpool area is also open. We have a DD14 who would have freaked had we not done something about this. So we took duct tape knowing this may present a problem, and asked for extra sheets. We taped these to the wall above the door and tub opening, and respected everyones privacy. It worked well for the whole week.

Grand Cypress is gorgeous ! Stayed in a 1 bedroom this summer and have never stayed anyplace better ! Check out reviews at tripadvisor.com and the photos.

There's no bathroom privacy at all in the one bedrooms in the older section (Phase 1, not the Grandvillas which are Phase 2), not even a door to the toilet area. It's sort of a "great room" design, with the bathroom and bedroom integrated together. The duct-tape-and-sheets wouldn't have worked in the older section, I don't think.

If you have a two bedroom or a three bedroom, you will have multiple bathrooms, at least one of which is an entirely separate room. Bathroom privacy is really only a problem with one-bedroom units, especially the Phase 1 units (which are really hotel units, not one-bedrooms.)

Unless you get an 1-bdrm and the bathroom privacy is an issue for you, it's a great resort; very nice and right near Downtown Disney.

Do you mean Cypress Pointe Grandvillas, or somewhere else?

Judy S... I mean the "Villas of the Grand Cypress" right up the road from the Hyatt Grand Cypress. Our villa was absolutely beautiful. The bathroom definitely had a door as well as glass shower stall and seperate jacuzzi tub. There was a brand new top line GE washer/Dryer right outside the bathroom and all new top line appliances in the kitchen. I posted a review at Trip Advisor as well as some photos. There is an incorrect review (in my experience) on Trip Advisor complaining about fees. There were NO PARKING FEES at the villas when we were there and I doubt there is now. I have checked the website and the only fees which are clearly posted are their "resort fees", which I believe is more than worth it. The amount and variety of unlimited activities that we got at the Grand Cypress far and away was a better use of our money than the $10 anight parking fee we ended up paying when we got to the Dolphin ! We went to the Hyatt pool, sailing, paddleboats, biking, some other type of boat thing that our kids did and there was not a seperate fee or a time limit. That is something that Disney cannot compete with, unfortunately.
I cannot speak about the Club Suite villas at the Villas of the Grand Cypress as we did not stay in one, but the photos at the Grandcypress.com site are pretty and do not show a bathroom area in the bedroom. It looks like a separate closed door room.
