Can anyone help me make my decision. There are 8 of us staying in a 3 bdrm unit. Would CP or CPGV be a better fit for us? Does the twin bedroom at both have the trundles or twins? Also does anyone have any pics to share with me!We have 2 children going 8 & 10, and 6 adults! RIght now, my request has been Phase 1 ground floor pool facing! Any help, pro's, cons would be appreciated! Thanks

The units at CPR are newer. The 2nd bedroom there has the twin/trundle combination. Overall the unit is slightly smaller than CPGV, however unless you need the mini-kitchen the 3rd bedroom lockoff is more of a "suite" at CPR. No elevators at CPR but the buildings are only 3 story and of course ground floor you walk right in. We prefer CPR as all the "action" (Clubhouse, signature Volcano pool, exercise room, gift shop, cafe, large recreation area, pond and more) are on that "side". Across the street you have the taller 4 & 5 story buildings, with elevators, as well as 2 more pools, mini-golf and a small store - available to all no matter which resort your unit is located at.

On the CPGV side you have a slightly larger 2nd bedroom with 2 twin beds, but no TV (if it matters). And the 3rd bedroom with a queen rather than king bed and the mini-kitchen. The furnishings and appliances are much older despite the buildings being a few years newer than CPR's.

Both have a few unique features but, in our opinion, CPR is the higher class and better maintained resort (Silver Crown with RCI), while CPGV is more run of the mill and thus un-ranked. It seems CPGV does things more on a budget. (A great example the new CPGV roofs are asphalt shingles replacing the original cement tiles while CPR has new tiles and metal roofs for replacements. More expensive but it maintained the "look & feel" of the original resort vs the plain brown asphalt look.) We have stayed at both multiple times and definitely feel the Cypress Pointe experience is best defined at the original. You should have a great stay no matter which you decide to stay at. Say hello to Charlie (the official resort bird) for us!

Thanks, that helped. So maybe I should stick with my original and stay with CPR and my pool outside the door! I know this is going to sound terrible, but is the king, or queen bdrm big enough that we could put an air mattress or the mattress of the fold out couch on the floor for my kids. I hate putting them on the fold out and they get woken up in the morning, if someone gets up early! Thought it would be better to have them in the same room as us! They think it is a real treat to sleepover with us! Plus it is only for 5 nights out of the 11 that we are there. It just happens to be in the middle of our vacation!
Again if anyone has pictures I would love to see them!

The master in the villas are great but there is no way you would have enough room to put someone on the floor.........kids would just have to suffer if someone got up. That being said, the villas are very roomy and awesome and great pools. Also very good and cheap deli sandwiches and Pizzas at the store by the pool.

Thanks everyone for your help. I think I may see if was can get another 1 or 2 bdrm rental along with this!! My kids get very cranky if they don't get their sleep, so I have to figure something out!

Thanks for those pics - I'm off here for honeymoon in August and now I really can't wait!!!!

It looks nice - you can also call the resorts and find out what they recommend.

We used to stay at GPGV regularly when they had great 1 night deals through hotelkingdom.

IIRC, the one downside to CPR is the master b/r bathroom situation.....there's no door, not even one to separate the toilet from the rest of the room. There's a website out there that shows the floor plans.

The newly remodeled units at CP have one bed in the second bedroom now. I think a full or queen. Also the bathroom in the master has a door that closes for the toilet now too. Its a little more private than it used to be

We just stayed there for Easter and I do think you could fit something in the master bedroom on the floor between the bed and the window
