My mom found a really great deal on a villa at Cypress Point Grande Villas, and we are considering staying there. I was wondering if anyone has stayed here and what they felt about it. We will have a car, so we won't need to rely on shuttles taking us to the parks. On all my trips I stayed at a value resort on property so this will be new to us. Thanks

Search the forum, and you'll find many many experiences. My sense is that most experiences are positive, and it's a place I'd be willing to stay at.

I would too and I am next year. I am even staying in a 1-bedroom. So it will be different for me.

I posted about it recently and here is what people said to me

(some pics I found very helpful)

Driving directions to the parks

turn left out of the resort - turn right at the disney signs (hotel Plaza blvd).

at the stop light in front of DD - turn right - Buena Vista Drive.

at the first real left turn (not one going into SSR) - turn left - Disney Vacation Way -

at the traffic light decide - straight Epcot and MK, left - Studios and AK.

to get to the back entrance of the MK turn right here then left when the road ends. but only do this if you have a PS reservations at WL, Polyn, Cont or GF - otherwise the other route is faster. Disney has tighten up on letting off siters park in their parking lot. You will only get a 3 hour (if that long) parking permit. this way is much longer to get to the MK parking lot.

Reviews have been mostly good, but it depends on what you expect. If you have been happy with value hotels, I think you will love Cypress Pointe.

I've stayed at Cypress Pointe this year in March and at Grand Villas the previous Feb. We enjoyed our stays very much, but my memory is bad so I had to get more info and more recent info also.

Happy planning!

Jenn

We stayed in both the 2 bedroom and studio portions of Cypress Pointe (not Grand) this year. I especially enjoyed watching Lord of the Rings in surround sound with my family in the evenings. I think for the price charged on hotelkingdom, this resort is definitely a bargain.

Thanks everyone for your replies. My dad decided he would prefer to stay on site, but I was really looking forward to staying here, it looks beautiful, maybe another trip.

when are you going?

are you getting 2 rooms in a value or one?

has your father looked here on the DVC rental site?

We are just getting one room. We did consider renting pints but this will be cheaper, plus he wanted get a package through AAA. we are going in january, i think its the 2nd-10th.
