I know this isn't the right forum but its pretty active. Has anyone been there? How is it?

I haven't been since it reopened under new management, but, it used to be a nice place to visit. I drove by there in February and I think I saw a roller coaster that wasn't there before.

The old CG had a nice water skiing show, and paths to walk around and look at the flowers. The old Florida shaped pool the Ester Williams used in one of her movies, a small zoo like area, an ice show and other displays. As I said, I don't know what is happening now.

The correct forum for this one is on the "Orlando Area Attractions" board.

I'll move it over there for ya!

It still has the "Gardens area",the water ski show as well as an area with some carnival type rides and a couple smaller roller coasters. The biggest coaster is the Starliner which is a wooden coaster bought from a park that closed in Panama City,Fl.It also has a small waterpark and an amphitheater that has concerts.I went there about 2 years ago before the Starliner was finished being rebuilt and thought it was a nice park with decently priced tickets,it definitely isn't in the same level of any of the other major parks in Florida,Disney,Universal or the Busch parks but for a different park experience it's well worth it.

How does the current Cypress Gardens compare with another Old Florida theme park like Silver Springs?

We loved it! Lovely Gardens, small animals, ski shows. Cute rides for the little ones. One special reason for us though is the rollar coaster we grew up with at Miracle Strip Park on Panama City Beach was bought by CG and is now there!
It's a beautiful place, if you have the time I recommend it, it is alot slower pace then Disney or Universal. Not as much crowds easier to get on rides, plus the water park comes with the price of your ticket so that is a plus!!;)

We have not been back since they have redone it but we will be going next year. I think the best way to describe it might be the Florida of the past and I'm not being negative here. We went in January (6 year's ago) and the ride attendant literally walked with our toddler from ride to ride to let him on. There were about 5 other children there. To a toddler, a ride is a ride. He loved it! No lines and as many times around as he wanted.

The shows were good. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable day!

We went over the Forth of July weekend to avoid the Disney crowds. This park was definetly the place to go. You get the second day free so its $20 per day. On the holiday weekend most rides were walk-ons except the Starliner and the raft ride. They kept having issues with the Starliner so they would shut it down then reopen it later. The Starliner is worth the wait. We rode in the front and it felt like the car was lifting off of the tracks. After the ride I stood where I could see the bunny hop after the first hill, and sure enough, the front wheels lift off. There are 5 coasters, two wood, two steel and a crazy mouse. The mouse is the same as the ones in Animal Kingdom. For the steel coasters they always give you two times around on each ride. The other rides are a mix of kiddie and standard flat rides. Plenty of things for any age.

The staff was very plesant and attentive to the guests. The buildings are worn and need maintenance. We did not try the water park, but it looked like fun. They have some fairly tall slides, a large splash zone, a small wave pool and a lazy river. The ski show was good. They no longer have the ice show. The acrobate show that replaced it was entertaining.

Overall it is definetly worth a visit.
