Cyber Monday? More like Cyber dud...

So what's going on? I was expecting all of these great deals today. I went through my email, surfed the net, and nothing. I even keep up with the Amazon deals, but nothing is really any better than I got last week, or will get next week. What the heck?

The one thing I wanted - the Trio thing on Amazon sold out before I could buy it. So cyber bust for me too.

The only success I had was with Borders. Buy one book, get one 60% off, with free shipping if you spend $10. I was able to buy a couple of gifts and spent less than I would have in-store.

Other than that....meh...nothing.

I agree! We needed a second laptop so I waited until today thinking I would get a deal...not so much! I could have gotten a better deal on them the week leading up to black Friday.

Not only was it a bust, but Amazon more than DOUBLED the price of Rock Band 2 for Wii. They had it last week for $139 and now it's $299!!! It's still $139 on other sites, that is just insane! I was hoping they'd drop it to $99 like they have it for PS3 and Xbox, but they jacked it instead. They lost their dang minds!

Yeah, that hour I spent on Build-A-Bear's website last night trying to nab a $5 bear was a big ol waste of my time. Twelve hours later and they still didn't have the kinks worked out.

I did get some good American Girl deals, but that stuff is overpriced to begin with.

ok Take it back- I was able to get the SIMS Wii game for $20! And I was able to order a sherpa hoodie and pair of sweatpants from old navy shipped for free to me for $24!

I checked this out, and noticed something. It is no longer being sold DIRECTLY by Amazon. The prices pulling up are from some of the other "trusted" merchants. Anyone can sign up to be a merchant, sell whatever you want for whatever price and (basically) fool people into thinking that Amazon is selling it. Same thing with the Zhu Zhu pets, none are being sold by Amazon directly. Be VERY careful when buying from Amazon to make sure that the items are coming from Amazon and not another 3rd party, as not all of the protection offered by Amazon carries through to their merchants. For example, if something is lost in transit you cannot file a claim with Amazon, it has to be through the merchant....and if they are charging more than double the retail price, you can guess how good their customer service will be....

The only really good deal I found out there was the borders deal. I was able to combine the 60% off with a 40% off and a 10% off and get the free shipping and because I linked thru My Points I got 90 points too. I got some books I've been wanting for myself for a while and the latest of the Bone books for oldest DS. Other than that the deals were all equivalent to deals I've seen out there before.

Got a couple $5 album downloads from amazon

Got a pair of crocs for 20% off and free ship (I know not great but I live in my Malindi's) so $22 was a great price for the black ones

and a few other things overall I had a good cyber monday......

So people would wait until they got to work on monday to do all of their cyber-shopping on the company's high speed. Well now most people have high speed at home. There is no longer a need for retailers to fight for the best deals on cyber-monday. They can just offer their regular deals as they did at any time...My warning was to make sure that you are actually getting a deal. I was looking at some Old Navy pants over the weekend. They were for something like $35 normal, on sale for $20. Well today they were for normal price of $35 (no sale price) but then had like a 30% off that brought it back to the same $20 price.

Too many stores just count on people not checking prices or not knowing any better. They make more money on people that think they are getting a great deal than they lose on pissed off people that know that there isn't a great deal.

The only deals were the increased cash back at rewards programs added to the same sales the stores always run.
