CVS Weekly 4/26-5/2

I think it is 2 queens. I figured DH & I could sleep with DS (or put him on the floor... but he's really still so little) and Auntie (smiller) could sleep with DD. Luckily, my DH is super cool with hanging around with smiller. they get along nicely. THANK GOODNESS!

I don't need the kitchen for 5 nights. The only kitchen activity I plan on is opening my bottle of chardonnay.

I know nothing about the owner's lockers. how much is it??? I think the other CVS people might think I'm weird talking about NON-CVS stuff. You all already know I'm weird. THANK YOU FOR ALL THE ADVICE!!!!!!!

Did they deny the Rimmel because of the Walmart wording? People on other sites are saying they cut the coupon in half to remove the red lettering. I would think that would make cashiers suspicious because they don't know if it's a free coupon or a BOGO, etc. because it just says max value of $6.47, but it is coded as free so the register just prompts for the amount.

The girl did not like the Walmart wording. She even asked the manager. I had only decided to try it b/c you had success with yours. My close store has not been as coupon friendly lately. I may try one more store with a boy cashier! Glad to see you back here too, you always have the best deal ideas!

I figured it was Stitchlovestink or the other lady from afullcup that hits the stores here. I have only been to the Edgewood store once - does that one have a scanner? DH works at EPG but I rarely make it over that way.

I got a $2/2nuts and a $2/10 CVS today and used the nuts one on 2 Caramel Nut clusters (for DH) and then used the CVS one on some hand sanitizer on clearance and some CVS Ibuprofen. I hadn't planned to buy either one but those are things we can always use.

I got the hooks at Edgewood but went to Forest Hill b/c the baby needed his shots and to waste time before the appt. we stopped into cvs just to check out the coupon machine, although I have not been getting much from there lately, just nuts!

I visited a CVS in a nearby town, and lo and behold, it has a coupon scanner. I was very excited to get three coupons, including the nut one and a $2/$10. Last night, I tried to use the nut one and it was declined at the register b/c the Extra Care Card number on it didn't match mine. Really, I think it does. My card number ends in a 1 -- the coupons have the four digits before the 1 on them and my name. Whatever -- they were declined and I had the nuts taken off my order. That would be the end of it EXCEPT none of my ECBs printed -- my receipt didn't even have quarterly totals, "offer limits reached," etc. It does have the last four digits of the my card at the top. A manager did print the ECBs for me.

Has this kind of thing happend to y'all? Did your card work right the next time?
I'm wondering if I should even try the silly nut coupons again.

Yes, that did happen to me once. The cashier handed it back to me and I looked at the CRT and saw my name and last four digits and said to the cashier, "Well, that's my name." She seemed a bit flustered and took it off manually. I don't think it affected my ECB's and can't recall anything else in the transaction being a problem and it's never happened since. If it is your number and has your name on it, I'd definitely try it again. Maybe just a fluke like mine was?

That happened to me a few weeks ago. They did manually print my ECB's. My card worked fine a few days later when I used it next and all the appropriate information was on the receipt. Not really sure why it happened?

I have a ton of coupons for the SC JOhnson deal but can't get myself together for it....I went this morning and the signs were already down at the one closest to me

Also they didn't have any metal clips. I printed those coupons and I'm not going to be able to use them.....

It wasn't me , I was able to get 2 at the Edgewood store but that is it. (on a side note they would not let me use the rimmel Q here!) I did get 2 plastic ones, might buy some more of the plastic ones if I cannot find anymore metal and use the 1.50Q, so only $1 MM.

For all those get the $2/2 nuts CRT, the caramel nut clusters candy & peanut clusters also work for free, in case you want something besides nuts/trail mix only. free candy!

Oh and speaking of Old Bay, if you shop ACME. they have the little cans of Old bay for 2.09 and w/ the .75 coupon that gets doubled there, it makes it .59. I'm thinking of getting some of those for FE gifts for our cruise in Nov. good idea or not?

there you go, Clarabelle, blaming me again! I haven't been in a couple of days. Been busy crazy here! Decided to run up to D & K and B.B.'s before I turned the rental car back in so I could put all those miles on the rental and not on my car. I got my car back last night. Finally!! They had it for over a week! John told me that they hired a new Pharmacist at FH, have you met him/her yet? I haven't. BTW, I think it is Steph from AFC, I know she shops really early on Sat eve. I have run into her at the FH Wags on Sat night too. I did my CVSing on Sun this week. I didn't get to finish up last week's deals because the outlaws were coming to see Ashleigh's school play. They were performing Mulan. I still have a couple of things to grab either today or tomorrow, but I'll be fine if I have to get rainchecks.
Want to try to do lunch this week? I still have the pkgs of huggies for you.
Edgewood does not have a scanner and their markdowns are MUCH different than BA or FH. Usually, they are slower and not as good. Although, I have from time to time found a bargain or two at that store. Sometimes I stop there if I am going to Aldi's since they're across the street from one another. I go there maybe once every other month. Their staff isn't very friendly IMO and based on my experiences.

Yes, I have had them say the crts or ecbs were not for that card. I show them that the digits match up except the last one on the crt or ecb gets left off somehow sometimes. Not sure why that happens though.

Has anyone tried using the 3M coupon on non-metal hooks? I went to 2 different CVS last night and only came up with 3 metal hooks. I am 39wks pregnant, fat, uncomfortable, and have to lug around an almost 3 year old. I am not running to any more CVS! I am getting pity looks b/c I look like I swallowed a whale.

Oh, I can sympathize with you well. DDs were just over 3 years apart. I looked full term at 7 mo w/ younger DD. Both were overdue and when I was due w/ younger DD, older DD was very big for her age (height & weight). I had a 48# kid straddling my belly. I figured I'd push the younger one out one way or another. Best of luck for a safe, QUICK, and easy delivery.

I just went to Wags. I have to say I really hate the ones here, but they sent me a letter with a $25 check to transfer my script.... So I did... They were out of the automatic shower cleaner, and some of the other rr stuff. And then I realized you have to use the whole $25 in one swoop. So I got the kids and went to another where they had tons of the free stuff, I got my sister a hairdryer ($19.99) and the shower cleaner, the free nivea cream, the free rembrant...... The total was $48!! Then I had the $7 coupon for the shower thing... I handed her the script check... She was pretty clueless.. I had a gc to use on the rest, and she couldn't get the check to work, then it took her forever... and she handed me the reciept.. I didn't realize until I got home that she ran the $25 script check for $41!!!! I did get the register rewards worth $14. I hope she doesn't get in trouble. I feel really bad about it.

I went to CVS this morning and had another script to transfer there so I have a $25 GC to there to use on the Coke deal...

At one of my stores they have a little bag (about the size of a deck of cards or maybe smaller) of nuts (Almonds) hangin up on a hook by the register.

Sometimes you can find the chocolate covered nuts by the bagged candy (like the Gold Emblem mints, gummy worms, etc.) I can also sometimes find the small bags of nuts or trail mix by the cans of Planters nuts, etc. It varies store to store what I can find to use them on, but I can always find something. If worse comes to worse, the trail mix is 2/$3 this week in the ad, you can use it on those.

Look in the "snack" section as well. The chocolate covered raisins, the chocolate covered peanuts and caremel nut clusters are in the candy section, with other bagged candy. The small bags of nuts are near the registers or sometimes on a strip near the drink coolers. The bigger bags of trail nix that are on sale this week are on the nuts isle


I've heard the metal clip coupons work on the plastic clips. Also if you have a "bigger" CVS they seem to be in the bigger stores.


And to the person who was asking about coupons and scanners.... If you register your email addy you should get x/xx in email. I do about every two weeks. I also got mailed coupons a lot more before I started scanning

I went today to finish the medicine deal (buy $20 get $10ECB) and I asked if they had any of the $1 bandaids. He said no but he would sell me the Hello Kitty ones for $1! That worked out good for me because I needed $5.50 to finish the deal and I wasn't sure what I was going to buy. Nothing was adding up to $5.50. But then I got the OB for $4.50 and the $1 bandaids! And I got my $10 ECB. (I previously had spent $14.50.) Plus I used a $1 off bandaids and $1.50 IP for the OB.

Hi! I think that is a good deal on Old Bay. I have not been to the ACME yet, just go to the Fallston store since lots of times they still have the deals there. I did get 2 of the utility clips and used my $2.50 Q since they had some metal on them and figured I would give it a try. No problem using them at all. Altough I did buy the largest box of chocolate I ever saw for my mom there so that probably distracted the cashier.
And you are right about Edgewood, they used to have a horrible cashier but they had been better for awhile, now they are not so coupon friendly again. I have been doing more RiteAid b/c of it.

Try using them on the plastic ones with some metal on them, like the utility hooks.

The nuts Q's also work on the boxes of Toffee and Caramel Popcorn, although you do have to pay a little, a few weeks ago they were on sale for $1 each, not sure what the price is now. Just look for anything with Gold Emblem on it and has some type of nut in it, peanut, almond, whatever!

I didn't specifically ask about the Hello Kitty bandaids. But I had my items on the check out counter (OB, Hello Kitty bandaids and 2 packs of nuts) and I asked if they had any of the $1 bandaids. And he just offered to give me the Hello Kitty ones for $1! He said that someone had complained earlier and that the manager said they could sell the hello kitty ones and the plain ones for $1.
