Cvs 7/19-7/25

Alot of my ECBs are beeping lately. And I make sure they are for the correct card. Sometimes they push them thru and sometimes I have to ask for the manager. It really is a pain in the patootie.
That has happened to me to here at the CVS while on vacay. The guy said to me, you know I'm pushing these thru but they aren't for the right card. I whipped the card out to show him the # and that they did match and that he was not pushing anything thru (like he was doing me some huge favor) that shouldn't have been. No I'm sorry or anything, just an "Oh..." That annoys me when they pull this attitude like they are 'breaking the rules' just for you. BTW, sometimes the scanner CRT Q leave the last card # off and have the 4 #'s in front of the last one (did that make sense?) :goodvibes

I had the most odd thing happen with my ECB's once. They printed with my card # but they had the cashier's name on them. She had no idea what had happened either. We weren't sure if I would have trouble using them or not but thankfully I didn't.

Oh my gosh, LanaJae......the robbers were there when you were there? :scared1: Did you see them? What happened? Which cashier(s) were on duty? What time was it? Details, girl, details!!! :scared: Maybe you should go to Maryland/Arcade or University Avenue from now on when you shop at night! :rotfl:

OMG Lanajae!!! You walked in and they were robbing the place???

I was in shop mode so I wasn't paying attention to what was going on, it was about 8:30 pm. A man went in the store and grabbed a red basket and filled it with all the expensive stuff like the $130 electric toothbrushes, etc. and had them under his arms (they said it was the entire shelf) and then he went along side the makeup section, waited for the door to open and then went running out and then the employees went running after him. This CVS, like some others around here is really hard to get in and out of with a car so I guess he had someone in a car waiting to take off and they sped off. Apparently drug addicts do this to sell the stuff, but honestly, who on a street corner buys a toothbrush??

ShiPoo - too funny about going to Maryland/Arcade or University Avenue!

I'm going to miss this week completely! At least its because I will be at Disney . I might try and talk my mom into going to get the school supplies. But not sure if I can convince her of the importance of going really early on Sunday. Oh well. Its nothing I can't do without!

Have a great week everyone!

Maggie

Have a great time, but absolutely go Sunday morning - if you don't, you'll think about it all day!

The cashier scanned her card, sometimes they have to do this to approve a transaction, but she did it at the wrong time, they have to wait until it says they have to otherwise it over-rides your scanned card.

LanaJae, that story is too funny :lmao: Glad no one was hurt....but I would have continued shopping too. It would take a natural disaster or at least gunfire to keep me from finishing my CVSing!

Lanajae - that happened to me once at a BabiesRUs (Puffkin- the one in Wyo.)! A man and a woman had a shopping cart filled to the top. She went out the door first and then he bolted through the door after her. There was only one cashier near the door. She called after him, but of course he didn't stop. (This store NEVER has enough cashiers on duty.) She got the manager and they went out in the lot. The car was tearing away AND they had removed the license plate. I was in line with another lady and asked them if they were going to call the police. They said no because they were sure they couldn't do anything!!! I remember the lady and I were in shock that they weren't going to call. It was a big shopping area and we thought they should at least give the cops a heads-up in case the same people pulled the same stunt somewhere else. I'll never forget that day!

This same thing happened to me last Sunday. I showed them my card and no one could understand what was going on but they pushed them through anyway.

About 3 weeks the same thing happened at one of my favorites stores. There were 2 police cars there when I went in. Cashier told me 2 people came, each one picked up a red shopping basket and filled it with expensive moisturizers. They wiped the entire shelves out. Then just walked out the door. Cashier told me they expect him to watch for shoplifters while doing his other duties.:confused3

I just don't know what goes through a person's mind to do something like that. I've been at the stores in the "bad" areas and have seen people stealing one thing here or there and have reported it a few times and all I got was a shrug, but apparently baskets full of expensive stuff get them riled.

momtosam - wonder how they were able to get it all in the car that fast. Sometimes I think these people know someone who works in the store so they know if they have cameras and how many people are on duty. Last night, I heard a police say that the guy was all over video surveillance, he must not have cared. I would like to go to a jail and yell at all these people and tell them they don't have to steal, the place gives the stuff away and then some!

I have a question that I know you guys will know the answer, next week the cases of water are $2,99, I have 2 CRT's, can I use both CRT's in one transaction and get 2 cases of water in one transaction?
Thanks,
pammyPoppins

No, I don't think you will be able to use two of the same CRT's in the same transaction. I tried to do that with the $2 crt for the nuts and it beeped. They told me that the register said it was a limit of one per transaction. But they were happy to do a 2nd trans for the 2nd coupon.
I'm sure not what you wanted to hear, but HTH. :goodvibes

question for the veteran cvs'ers....i have two $1 off coupons for kotex, and the big packs will be on sale next week 2/$10, will CVS let me use both coupons in one transaction-one for each pack?

Yes, you can use both coupons. Check your last receipt to see if you've bought any in the last month, this deal has been running for a long time - each week they have different sizes on sale, but the ECB is always $2 for buying 2. It's a limit of 5 deals (so 10 packages of any type).

Pammy - I have been buying a case of water and 2 packages of nuts every day, but I can't use more than 1 of each coupon in a single transaction. Just buy a case of water, bring it out to your car and then go back in for another.

Realized I didn't answer this part - the only one I knew was Peggy. There were 3 others there also, don't know their names yet. Peggy was on break while it happened. I didn't see the guy, I was in la-la land as usual, the place could be on fire and I'd be thumbing through my coupons and not notice.

Every time I stop in at the new store, Peggy hasn't been cashiering. Can't wait to catch up with her sometime especially now that I can tease her about taking breaks during all the action.

As for your ability to concentrate on coupons and enter la-la land, I do the same thing. :lmao: I'm just glad they just stole merchandise and ran out and that they weren't robbing the cashier at gunpoint or anything like that. I can just hear your daughter's show and tell presentation about the night she and her mom shopped at CVS while it was being robbed. :rotfl:

I'm hoping to get there today to make a few more photo books. I had Anthony at Mahtomedi helping me the past couple days with all my questions. I didn't know how to put pictures from different memory cards in one book so we had to make a CD first of what I wanted in the books. He's a sweet kid, but he had his hands full with all my inexperience at making photo books. :scared: He kept running back and forth between the cash register and other customers and me at the photomaking machine. Several books were gifts so I spent hours on them! No doubt Anthony was glad when I finally left the store. :dance3:

i haven't bought any there at all, ever-just started CVS'ing a couple of weeks ago  thanks so much!

I shouldn't have said robbed as that makes people think of using guns and getting money - this was in-between plain old stealing and robbery lol

Anthony is a great kid, I am always glad when he's working, I am sure he didn't mind at all! I made photo books there this week and he got out all the stuff out but people kept wanting to check out so I put the books together myself, he thought that was funny.

I bet your photobooks are nice! I don't have the patience for those machines. Luckily I have several memory cards so I only put the pictures I want for each book on one card at a time.

Good, then no worries about limits. I had a $1.50 for them that coupon I used this week along with a $1 on liners, I don't know where I got it, but I wish I had more.
