Any tips for cutting straight when you are cutting interior details for a paper piecing with a knife? I can't cut a straight line to save my life:sad2:

Try moving the paper whenever possible. I think there is a video tip of Xacto cutting on creating keepsakes online.

See what I mean? The windows look terrible!!!

I think it looks great. Of course, I can't cut straight with a pair of scissors LOL! To me that's what scrapbooking all about. It's homemade and made from the heart that's all that counts. Keep up the good work :)

I can't cut straight either, but your monorail looks awesome!! I wish I could make something like that!! Great job!

I am horrible cutting with an exacto knife, my hands are too shaky, must be my old age. ;) :confused3

Your monorail looks great!

Have you tried using a photo cutter w/ a guide... I have one, but I don't know what it is officially called.....

You could cut long strips with a straight edge....then you only have to cut it cross ways w/ scissors.

I think your monorail looks fine - but I know the feeling of looking at my own work and being very critical of myself and others telling me it looks good --- but it really does!

BY THE WAY _ I LOVE the monorail - it looks great - I think it would look Wonderful with a GREEN stripe. I use a metal ruler to go down the side - also - if you have a rotery cutter (I use a duller one of my quilting ones and use a quilters ruler - that works well too.)

I love your monorail. Did you use something for a pattern for the piecing or was that all freehand? If its a pattern could you tell me where you got it. I'm just starting our disney album and was wondering if there was a site with disney patterns for paper piecing.

It looks awesome! But if you are that concerned, use a metal ruler. Lay the ruler on the line and run the exacto down it. if you use plastic, the exacto may cut into it and get stuck

Awww, I look good for 29, don't I? lol

We missed you and Cathy too! I still have her trimmer.

Raenstoirm, that is a terrific idea. I am going to try that.

I'm 26 and I've NEVER been able to use an exacto knife well. I always think "ah, this will work for ___" and then I try it and it's terrible. So it ain't your age. ;)

I think the monorail looks great, and I like the ruler idea. I think I've always tried curved things with the exacto, but I'd like to try that monorail.
