So we finally told my DS7 that he's going to WDW in August (with his big bro and Mommy, too.)
We gave him a note written on plain paper. It read,
"You, your brother, and your Mommy are going to Disney in August."
We wanted to see how well he's reading these days, I mean really reading and understanding. He read it out loud the first time, he dropped a lot of sounds (apraxia) and didn't seem to quite get it. I had him try a second time and this time I helped out a little. He finished reading the note and stood up... he slowly smiled and said... "...Ooooooh!" Then I handed the maps I ordered from the Disney site, they are customized to highlight our favorite attractions. He happily spent the next hour or so pouring over the maps.
I showed him on the calendar when we are leaving so he can X out the days.
