Cute boy outfits?

I see ton of cute Disney outfits for girls, but rarely see the boys all dressed up! Can you please share photos of your sons in Disney attire? My son will be 9 when we go. He LOVES bowties, so I'm thinking maybe making some Disney print ones!

It makes me so sad to see the pictures of all the little girls all dressed up and their brothers just wearing a Disney shirt. They deserve cute too!!!

Well I think it depends on the boy. My DS was three when we were there this year and we had the Hook costume for him. He refused to wear it lol. My girls all had their princess dresses on and he would not dress up. I definitely would not force it.

Well I think it depends on the boy. My DS was three when we were there this year and we had the Hook costume for him. He refused to wear it lol. My girls all had their princess dresses on and he would not dress up. I definitely would not force it.

Yeah, I agree. If they're not in to it then definitely don't force it. Thankfully my son is all about dressing up for when we go. I think we definitely need a Donald, Beast and Stitch inspired outfit for him since those are 3 of his favorites!

Have you looked into Disneybounding? It's where you wear clothes to mimic how the character would look, but it isn't necessarily a costume. They have a lot of great options for boys too, and I'm sure some of the female ones could be altered for a boy. Just Google "male disneybounding" and you'll find a lot of great options. My friend and I disneybounded as Buzz and Woody at our local mall a couple months ago, and it was a really fun time! We about about 6 or 7 people come up to us and ask us about it.

I'd rather have my boy in a comfortable t-shirt than a scratchy costume with super pulled back tight hair!

And there are plenty of really cute disney T-shirts for boys!

DS wanted to dress up this time so I made him a few outfits. He was Peter Pan, Jack Sparrow and Woody. He loved getting the attention that usually just the girls get, I don't know why we didn't do it until this trip. The Jack Sparrow got him the most attention including being snuck up by Captain Hook and having Hook steal his sword and battle DS, that was amazing and didn't even know he was there.

Love this idea! My son and I were looking at pictures last night and trying to figure out how we could make him look like his favorite characters without actual costumes. I didn't know there was a name for it though, haha. Thank you!

Haha yeah I wouldn't let him wear an actual costume to the parks unless we went for Halloween. I meant just cute getups where he's themed. I didn't know there was a term "Disneybounding" for it!

You might be able to find some kids/adult small disney shirts in hot topic??? that are more edger that Dis Store cartoonish.

My son likes both I think we've come up with a good balance of cuter Disneybounding type outfits and then more tough guy outfits. He's so excited!

We have noticed the same thing when looking for cute outfits for my six-year-old son! What we have done the past few trips is worked vendors on E t s y (can we even mention that site? sorry if no...).

Anywho, I find a nice pillowcase dress for my girls (8, 3) with a nice Disney fabric. I then Private Message the seller and see if they are able to make a bowling shirt in the same fabric. Some sellers are willing to do that for an additional cost.

I'm not crafty at all, but my mother-in-law can sew and she says that the bowling shirts aren't too hard to make.

Just keep in mind, it may cost a bit more if you want a bowling shirt because I think it's more time intensive to do those rather than the pillowcase dresses for the girls.

I think there's also a crafty board that has a thread on sewing...some of the folks on there may also be able to assist if you go this route.

If you need a recommendation of a vendor we've used in the past, just send me a PM. I hope I can say that on here...if not, sorry again!!! I know the rules are strict about certain things, but I'm hoping I'm not getting into any hot water with this post.

I never even thought of a bowling shirt! Thanks for the idea! I'm learning to sew (not very good though, lol) but my mom is pro so I can always ask her. Thanks for offering recs though!

As of right now he wants to have 2 Disneybounding days - Goofy and Mike Wazowski. The other days he just wants t-shirts. I think our first full day we'll all have matching shirts. So excited!

When we were in Disney I saw a toddler boy in the CUTEST Prince Charming get up. Which was really just navy blue shorts and a t-shirt with some embelishments sewn on it to look like Prince Charming. Looked very comfy and oh so cute! My boys will be 4 and 6 for our next trip so I'm not sure what to do yet either. I know my older son would love something pirate themed. I'd love if I could do a Prince tee shirt of some sort but we will see if they are interested. Otherwise Disney shirts can be adorable too. Due to the timing of our trip I didn't get time to sew anything for it so my girls only were really dressed up one day and wore Disney tees the other days, it worked

What a great idea! I love etsy and have bought a few things off of there before. Mostly for my DD, never thought about this type of shirt for my son. My son is not a "dress up" kind of kid. I'd love to know some of the venders you used Shae&Van. I'm always looking for new shops to follow!

There is a really cute Stitch shirt available at the Disney Store right now, and Big Hero 6 shirts at Children's Place. Just got both for DS8 (almost 9) for Christmas. I also made a Stitch shirt on our last trip. Takes some time to put/sew together but it turned out cute. I cut out the different pieces, fused them to a plain tee, the stitched them on.

I am also upcycling a pairs of cheap shirts into a pair of shorts for DS -one has a Chevrolet logo that will now be on one leg, and that will be packed for our Epcot (Test Track) day.

I started sewing 3 years ago, and it is way harder to find things for boys, especially beyond say age 5-6. Check out the Disboutiquers thread here too, lots of inspiration!
