cutco knives?

Thanks fairestoneofall! Catalog pricing is good until Dec 2010! I belive I will order the trimmer because I have the most difficult time slicing tomatoes!

I have a "holder" I got from Pampered Chef; it's got picky-pokey things to hold the tomato & you slice between the thingies (bad description but I can't think of what it's called). I still have a hard time because the knife just won't slice neatly.

This thread is proof the folks here can help with most any problem. Thanks!

Do you hone these with a steel like other knives need? Can you put them in the dishwasher?

DH is a knife snob and has all sorts of expensive ones from Germany and Japan. But I am not allowed to touch them!

I would love a good set of knives for myself that are really sharp, but very easy to take care of. Right now I have a hodpodge of junky ones, hand me downs from DH when he trades up and some Pampered Chef ones.

I do have 2 great bread knives that I have no idea what brand what they are. We bought them when we were young and poor at some in store Demo. Pretty sure they came with a life time guarantee but we have no idea who we would contact if we needed to!

I have a lot of Cutco knives. They are excellent. Yes, scraps, they can be honed (usually not necessary) and I throw mine in the dishwasher all the time.

I love love love cutco knives! Bought a small set 5 years ago when a friends DS was selling them. Last summer I bought 3 more ..... from a garage sale ...for 50 cents each! Best garage sale find EVER!
