Customs questions... shipping questions...

on the 4 night cruise:

are you allowed $600 per person
in mdse to bring back?

does that include your souvenirs
purchased ON THE SHIP? or just
foreign mdse.

does that include the 2 bottles
of alcohol per person or is that
in addition to the $600

we are going to WDW before
the cruise, would it be wise
to have purchases from there
shipped home before we leave
WDW so we don't have to carry
to the ship then plane? Or does
it depend on WHAT we are going
to buy?

IF we decide to ship stuff home,
does WDW have a service or
is there a post office or UPS
place or Mailboxes Etc store close
to WDW?

in addition to the $600I'm pretty sure the 2 bottles of alcohol are part of the $600

we are going to WDW before the cruise, would it be wise to have purchases from there shipped home before we leave WDW so we don't have to carry to the ship then plane? Or does it depend on WHAT we are going to buy?as long as you have your receipts proving where you made the purchases, you'd be safe. If you cannot prove you bought it in WDW, then you might have to declare it

I have never experienced customs before. So if we buy souvenirs on the ship, and have them scattered throughout the luggage, how do they know what we have bought? Do they search the luggage or is it pretty much on the honesty system and you tell them what you bought and how much?

Yes they do. When you buy the items in the park you tell them you want to ship them home. They give you a bunch of different options and the prices. I did this before our Cruise in August of 2002. I just did not want to deal with carring them on the ship and the plain.

I'm not 100% sure - but it wouldn't be hard for the ship to inform customs how much each person (or stateroom) spent on the ship in the souvenir shops, etc. since EVERYTHING on the ship is charged to your stateroom.
