customs at YVR

We are looking at a flight from Toronto to San Francisco with a connection through Vancouver.

Can some one tell me about customs and security and where and when do I get my luggage.

In Vancouver you'll walk an age from deplanning to customs and then through the US terminal but customs is easy and your bag should be checked through - at most you'll have to identify it on a screen and possibly wait until it's through screening before continuing to customs.

Sorry, we live in Vancouver so I go thru customs, pick up luggage and leave. But customs is very quick, they have banks of automated machines. It’s all electronic. You insert passport into machine to scan, look into camera for pic, answer the questions then the machine spits out a paper you take to officer.
