Customizing food

Our kids are picky eaters. I know they will eat the steak sandwich at Be Our Guest but will gag at the horseradish sauce. Can the sandwich be ordered without it? Can I customize food at other Disney restaraunts?

You can always ask for a sauce or accompaniment to be omitted or served on the side.

If you preorder and choose the sandwich a list of options pops us. One option is to leave off the sauce, one is to leave off the onion,arugula and tomato. You also get a choice of fries or green beans as the side.

What does "customize" mean to you?
As minnie mum stated you can ask for sauces on the side and you can usually swap a side from one entrée for a side for a different entrée. But to totally change ingredients or to ask for something not even on the menu - not so likely

When I ordered our meals on the app (only an hour before our reservation) there was the option to check if you didn't want the onions, cheese, fancy lettuce (can't think of the name), etc. I wanted extra regular mayo for my sandwich but there was no option that I recall to put that. Where I got our drink refills, I asked a cast member for some mayo (saw someone else do it), and she gave me some mayo in a little dish. I told her, that I hated to bother her, and wish they just had packets of mayo. You could choose drinks for the kid's meals (fountain drink, milk, chocolate milk, juice, etc). We ended up ordering some kids meals for some of the adults with us. You could even choose different side dishes for some entrees & kids meals. I highly recommend pre-ordering. I was sent to the left and skipped ahead of everyone else in line who hadn't pre-ordered, and then I paid at a register and was sent in the dining room.
