Customized In Room Celebration

Has anyone recently asked for an In Room Celebration to be customized? I got the Halloween IRC a few years ago, and the first Dream Maker I spoke to said it couldn't be changed, but when I called them back with a question, I asked again and they agreed to do it! It turned out amazing! (I swapped out some of the candy for popcorn and added Scary Teddy.)

This year, we're going for Disney Friend's birthday, and I'd really love to do it again. The birthday IRCs are both focused on kids, and so I called and asked about customizing one. The man I spoke to told me that they can't customize them at all.

Afterward, I thought I remembered someone saying that they had also heard that they don't customize them anymore. (Here, probably.) Despite that, I'm very tempted to call again, just to see if I can get a different answer.

I've been all over the Disneyland Floral site looking for some combination that would compare to what they do for IRCs, but nothing comes close. I'm not interesting in paying that much for something that wouldn't knock her socks off. Suggestions?

I called about the Halloween celebration, and they told me that they can't be customized. I called twice and spoke to different people, but got the same answer. I decided to make my own in-room celebration, I went on disneystore.com and bought a bunch of stuff that we'll actually like and use, and will just send DH off with the kids to decorate the room and surprise them.

I also couldn't customize the birthday IRC as of last December so I also made my own. I went to a party store to get items to hang and made my own gift box and items I purchased through various outlets. I also got them to blow up some balloons at the hotel (PPH). My Brother who was turning 21 LOVED everything and was surprised. I suggest trying to put something together yourself.

Thanks for your replies. That's kinda what I was afraid of. Decorating the room myself won't really work, because it's just the two of us, and we aren't likely to split up. Besides, there's something really magical about opening the door to the room and finding something special there waiting for you.

I just did the Mickey and Friends birthday celebration and they really blow the doors off with it.

Banner on the door. Big banner on the window with a twinkling Tinkerbell attached too. Big bunch of huge balloons.
Autographed pictures and books on the big dresser with treats all around it. Mickey footprints from the door to the beds.

5 HUGE, beautifully wrapped birthday gifts from all the gang. Each one with gifts (many gifts) specifically from each.

I don't know how I would have customized that. It was really beyond BEYOND.
