Customize One of Pat's??

I need some magic pixie dust sent my way!!:wizard: I tried playing for a few hours tryingto use the eliptical tool to cut out the big circle and then the smaller ones for the ears. Oh my goodness....that didn't work. If I substitute the Mickey Head for the Text, where does the Mickey Head come from? Do I build it with circles or is part of one of the fonts?

I am also trying to figure out the shadows of color around the letters. It mentioned it at the end of that one tutorial but didn't explain how to do it. I searched that site but wasn't successful. I wish I had a book for all of this...my Photoshop version came with the help program through the internet. I searched there but that doesn't really go into much detail.

I'm not giving up! I'm gonna learn this!! :sad2: :scared: :confused3 :cool1: I know it's gonna be a roller coaster of emotions but I'm gonna get it!!

You can certainly make your own Mickey head but why re-create the wheel. You can search for one online I'm sure, but Kari (rumblytumbly has some blanks in her photobucket) Here's a link to one.

Simply save this, open it up, erase the white background and viola "Mickey head".

In order to get the outline of color. You need to be in layer options. In mine, I have to first do something else like bevel it, then click on the sun shape in the layer and at the bottom it says outline or stroke or something like that. Choose your color and width, etc. Then if you do not want the bevel simply uncheck that box and then choose OK. That should work. But I am not sure our programs are exactly the same.

I hope this helps!

Just checking in... .Any luck with Pat's autograph book covers? I thought I would try to print everything out this upcoming weekend.

thanks!
Heather

I didn't find the exact graphic she used, but pretty close. It took me several hours last night to find it so, I'll actually be putting them together tonight.

I found these on her thread when I was looking for something else.

I am not sure of your exact question but I think this is what you mean...

Your Mickey head and fill graphic would be only 2 layers of your design. You can create other layers that would be the background, other graphics, text, etc..

Save the entire design as a PSD file that way when you reopen the file you can alter the layers if you wish. I use Photoshop Elements so I am not sure how this is different from what you are using.

I missed this the other day. Thanks for the help. I will do it this way from now on. I think it will make it much easier. I was cutting from the original and moving it to a new one  It was pretty fast but not customizable.

I would love it if you would take to time to look at my designs. This is the link to where I posted them. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1729262

Thanks again. I love your designs and you were one of the ones who inspired me to even try and one of the only ones to answer a cry for help to do it on my own. :cheer2:

I am glad I was able to help you - I know how frustrating it can be when you are first learning the ins and outs of the software. Your designs are very cute. I had actually looked at them before you gave me this link.

You are really getting the hang of it. One thing I like to play around with are the layer styles. This is what makes your text or graphics stand out. You can bevel, shadow, glow, outline, etc... Try experimenting with that and you will see how much more POP your designs will have.

Keep up the great work and I am flattered that I somehow inspired you.

Can anyone help? I can't seem to resize these without making the ears look flat. I am trying to do 4x6 cards. If you have these already done, or a blank head for this size that would be great.
Thanks

Hi Can I ask for a pink autograph cover with the name Libby in it and a blue cover with Ethan on it. Thanks

lynn

The covers are square, I believe, so they will distort when made into that size unless you want a border or something. OK, what about this, I know it's not perfect, but it might just work...what do you think?

Without distorting it, I had to keep the integrity of the file. The oritingal designer might be able to help more, I don't know.

I didn't think about putting it in a border. Pat was the original designer, she hasn't been on the board since December.

sorry guys, I'm sick so I didn't really feel like being on last night, but I will get to them tonight.

diz I have a 4x6 one but not sure if it's what you're wanting:

Michelle,

That will work, thanks. I have been also working on a few also. I was wondering what font you name is in and how you got the letters so close together? Hope you get to feeling better. I work in the medical field and we have been hit hard the past few weeks with the flu here in Oklahoma.
